Stick glue grip removal

Is there anyway to remove self-applied gluestick grip from a stick? I just got an non-grip stick at a team sale but it has that sticky glue that players roll on..any idea or if its even possible to remove? Thanks in advance.

look for some orange solvent spray. it works extremely well for getting off residue from adhesives.
