Prospal-Lecavalier-St. Louis
Malone-Stamkos-(Downie*/UFA**/Ashton***/Vrbata****)

* Downie is talented and cheap but unproven and has baggage; which outweighs the other?
** What caliber of free agent could the Lightning conceivably afford without hindering other glaring needs? A guy like...Recchi?
*** Highly unlikely and only if he definitively proves in training camp he belongs now rather than later
**** Only if Vrbata returns (whatever the circumstances) and he earns it

I dont think they'll split up Stamkos and Marty.

Marty is too valuable to Stamkos's growth. They have great chemistry as well. It would be a big mistake.

Anybody that plays with Marty develops great chemistry, as he has proven to be the key variable in all of the great line combos in recent years. There was a time not to long ago when the thought of Vinny separated from Marty was almost unbearable.

Maybe. Or maybe not. Stamkos would still have Malone. I actually see it as an opportunity for further growth.

Last year was a combination of not having Marty and not being completely healthy (wrist + shoulder).

That would be a good fit actually. Knuble's like Recchi in a lot of ways, he'd be a good fit.

Good 2-way guy too.

Malone

I think the first line will be Prospal - Lecavalier - Malone

And then Marty and Stamkos will make the 2nd line with whoever.

Does anyone else think we may have Tyrell as a viable scoring line option?? Or in the kind of role Downie was on the second line last year. I mean he would be good on Stamkos's line, provides speed A LOT of grit for his size and has some scoring touch. I mean that may be a season (or only half a season) early as the injury may have set him back. But am i the only that thinks he could fill that role?

I have to say I am excited that we can actually talk about having scoring line wingers in the system, been a hell of a long time since we have had that. And now we have Tyrell, Hutchings and Panik

Edit: We now actually have that many that I forgot Ashton, but he is another option.

Id like to see Downie next to Stammer and Marty.

Whichever lines they do pick, I hope they stick with them. Let the guys develope a good chemistry. Only Stammers line got to do that last season.

Oh man can you imagine Downie doing board work for Stamkos and Marty and letting them just rip shots from the circles?

why not do?

Malone - Vinny - Prospal
Downie - Stamkos - St.Louis

we have a 1A and 1B first line, depending on what team we are playing depends on who is the 'first line'
