Your take on Glennie

I have just watched him play in the WHL playoffs and that is about it. What can Dallas expect to see from him? What is his potential in the NHL. It seems that he was coveted by teams with the 8th, 9th and 10th pick so Dallas picked up a right hand shot is something that made me happy.

Also on
Alex Chiasson (RW) - R2 O38 - Des Moines
Reilly Smith (RW) - R3 O69 - St. Michaels
Tomas Vincour (C) - R5 O129 - Edmonton
Curtis McKenzie (LW) - R6 O159 - Penticton

By reading the McKeen's draft guide and also Future consideration,

I came away impressed by Chiasson's potential. Hoped he would drop lower, but it's ok. Anyway, I think you've got a player with very nice potential there.. A guy who plays a power game and is not afraid to run through people but still have hockey abilities. A kind of Lucic will probably less pure strenght, but more skills.

Don't go expecting a Lucic though, his effect on a game, even guys with the same skillset don't seem to come close.

I think he'll be good once he fills out.

Is it a new strategy by the Stars that when drafting a potential PF from the CHL, always go with the guy with 2 first names? James Neal, Jamie Benn, Scott Glennie. If the 3rd guy develops like the first 2, you guys might be on to something.

I expect his potential at a 30-40 goal scoring RW/C. He plays very much like Jeff Carter, probably a bit quicker though. He also has a bit of grit, dropped the gloves a few times this year, there as a comparison thrown around somewhere of David Backes as well.

If you can teach Vincour and Chiasson how to skate, you've got yourself to great players. I believe Dallas may be overrating Glennie a bit, but he's got speed to burn and a superb shot. A versatile David Booth is always a good addition to a prospect pool.

I believe Glennie will become a good 2nd line Forward in the NHL.
About Chiasson was the talk that Edmonton considered him in their #40 thoughts. But never saw him play personally...
