Surprised Ballard didn't get an invite. I think he's better than some of those D invitees.

Yea, I forgot a couple of those guys were Americans. Unless there is an injury, it will be tough for Tim to make it.

Yeah Ballard should be on that team. I would have it something like this.

Suter Rafalski
Ballard - Martin
Gilbert - Komisarek
E. Johnson/Gleason/Whitney

So did Tortorella.

Then again these are former Tampa guys who have actually seen him play a number of times. Gleason's reputation around the rest of the league (or at least on HF) is "LOL JOHNSON FOR GLEASON."

TSN is reporting that Ward sat out of the on ice practice today with a sore back. I'm not sure that's a good sign considering he's been resting it for months...

The only potential "good sign" is that he's confident enough with his standing with Canada to take a day off. Perhaps he has made it!

That's rich coming from you. Your boy is the poster child for that sort of thing, isn't he?

Babs?

Cole valued himself fairly the day he signed on the dotted line to stay in Carolina. Babs on the other hand has signed where? Remind me again, it seems to have slipped my mind.

BB changed his name on December 25. Babchuk had scored one goal at that point in the season. I'd say Joe Corvo is his 'poster child,' and Babchuk came along afterwords with his scoring. Thinking that JR has handled the Babchuk situation poorly doesn't make Babs his poster child. (I don't even know if BB thinks that anyway)

Here is another link to an article about Ward and his back pain. Here's a few of his comments:

"Unfortunately, it's just bad timing,'' said Ward, who was held out of practice Monday for precautionary measurements after experiencing minor back discomfort.

"I'm not feeling 100 per cent this past week. My back is kind of out of whack for a little bit, but we're being just really cautious with everything. I really wanted to be on the ice, but at the same time you've got to think about the Hurricanes, you've got to think about the NHL.''

"I got some really good treatment today, so obviously I'm going to keep my fingers crossed for tomorrow morning to feel good and feel comfortable to go out there and perform at 100 per cent,'' said Ward, who's one of five goalies attending the four-day evaluation camp.

"You want to be out there on the ice, but at the same time you don't want to jeopardize hurting it even more because you know in the long haul it's going to be about your regular season with your NHL club that's really going to dictate if you make this team or not.''

"Really I can't put a finger on why it happened,'' he said. "It just did. It's something that I've dealt with before and it's only lasted about a week. It's a similar thing that happened in the playoffs. That was bad timing, this is bad timing.''

Let's just hope this "bad timing" thing goes away for good...

Thank you. Cole in no way overvalued himself.

When I joined he had the BB name and a pic of Babchuk as his avatar. Anyway I know he's a fan of Babchuk, so he has no reason to criticize Cole for "not being worth as much as he thinks he is". People in glass houses, and all that.

Exactly, just cause someone's pissy at JR for what he percieves (no one really knows whats gone on) is mistreatement of his boy, doesnt give him he right to back hand another player who prbably swallwed his pride a litle just to sign here.
