IF this is true, without any other attachments, then this seems like yet another example of how hard it must be to get UFA's to go to Montreal.

IF this is also true, then for now...well done Sather.

I am in total shock and elation...

As much as i hate to, if this is the trade straight up, I HAVE to give credit to Sather...

This is SUPERB.

the very fact that he got him in the first place for that contract is inexcusable, but getting rid of it with 5 years remaining might be a bigger deal.

I'm resisting the urge to say something to mock all of people on the trade board that said nobody would take Gomez unless we sweetened the deal with Staal or Grachev.

Sad to see Gomez go, he is such a good skater and puck carrier, but this needed to be done because of his horrid contract. Thank you Scotty for your service.

Well, I'm sure that Gomer's $$ will be going to another player within the next 24 hours, but let's hope that player is actually worth it this time. Gomez is the best player out of our 4 horrible contracts, but boy am I glad to see him go. GREAT news.

Congratulations, I think this deal will turn into Higgins + Komisarek for Gomez. I have every belief that Komisarek will now look to sign with the Rangers. He and Higgins are pretty tight.

The Pens' rivals are gearing up defensively. First, Pronger. Now, I believe you guys will land Komisarek.

What a tremendous move by Sather.

I'm listening to the Bill Watters show. Darren Dreger is on confirming this deal. He said he spoke to the Rangers brass today and they are saying Ottawa has not lowered their demands for Heatley

Well, we aren't sure yet that there aren't others included in the deal, but I doubt it. Higgins isn't really much of a return for Gomez. I doubt we'd have to sweeten that deal.

If it's just Gomez for Higgins I'll be very, very happy, pending what we do now with our new cap space lol. I think this means Heatley will be a Ranger, but what will we give up? Maybe Higgins? Lol.

Damn, I'm at work and have to drive home now (1 hour +). See you guys on the other side.
