Some of the BEST hockey I've ever watched. Forced viewing for Jr's Hockey education.

IF YOU"VE NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE, DONT MISS IT.

U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A! I'm going to wrap myself in an American flag and light sparklers while I watch this.

Dude, one of the proudest sports moments as an American and hockey fan. I still have a place in my heart for all those guys on that team....No matter if they sucked or lit up the Kings.....

Remember the Hatcher brothers were a force...Tkachuk breaking Claude Lemieux's nose and that checking line that had a young Deadmarsh on it.

Brett Hull was a stud during the tournament.

I'm surprised they didn't do this by the "book" and have the Miracle on Ice.

But I'm damn glad they didn't. Such a great tournament and series. I think people forget just how damn good that team was, and the Canadian team they beat by winning 2 in a row in Montreal.

I don't know if the US will ever ice a team as good as that one was again.

Right after the last game ends, keep your ears open. When the game origianlly aired (I VCR'ed it) one of the American players skated up to Mike Richter (and the cameras and mic that were next to him and said "F#$%, you are the best goaltender in the #$%@ing world!" Wonder if it will get through (IT wasn't said directly into a mic but it can be heard rather clearly, in much the same way as "How's your $%^@ing head, Cookie?")

I remember this tournament pretty much cemented in my mind that Richter was a hall of fame goaltender and WAY better than anyone ever credits him as being. He's that freaking good throughout the whole thing, he is litterally a step above everybody else involved and is just dominant.

This was the final nail in the coffin of the sport of basketball being my passion. The hockey played in this tournament is the best I've witnessed in my lifetime and still is to this day.

Unbelievable skill on both sides going up against each other with mid-90s rules, i.e PHYSICAL PLAY. You had teammates fighting eachother, Tkachuk breaking Lemieux's nose and Lindros running wild. Also, Richter put on an absolute clinic in net.

This is also when Tkachuk became my favorite player. What a beast in this tournament. Still don't understand how Americans can hate on Tkachuk all of the time if they watched this tournament. Score goals, break Claude's nose and shatter your stick over Adam Foote's shoulder with a wicked Babe Ruth-like swing? Yes please!

It just started. Record it!

Watching this game 1, its amazing how much different the game is now with respect to the absence of hooking, interference and clutching.

But this was a BATLLE ROYAL.

This just reminds me of why I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH

Love how Lindros Paul Bunyan'd the stick right out of Chelios hands in front fo the ref and it's no call AND neither stick shattered in half!

I loved early to mid-90s hockey and saw no problem with the style back then. I still think you should be able to play defense with your stick and if you slash the stick out of a guys hands then good f'ing play..be stronger on your stick next time!

How good were both Richter and Chelios in Game 1?

I still hate Theo Fluerry's face!

Has the U.S. had a goaltender as good as Mike Richter since he retired?

US hasn't been a contender because they haven't been able to replace what Richter brought to the team.

All kinds of young US talent coming up but goal is still the problem. We'll see what Thomas does in the Olympics.

Enter Jonathan Quick

I'm really enjoying this game... bout halfway through game 1 now.

Bringing back some great memories of that time period. I was pretty young when this game was on originally, so I don't specifically remember the tournament, but the rosters are full of the players I grew up watching.

Very cool to see Amonte again in his prime. I also forgot how much I enjoyed watching LeClair play.

After the debacle of Nagano, I've wanted the Olympics to go back to the amateurs and have the pros play in a World Cup every 4 years with NHL rinks and rules.

I'd love for the Olympics to be like another World Juniors while not having to stop the season so the NHLers can play.
