NHL Free Agency Thread
We'll have individual threads for when the Lightning sign players, this is just for what other teams do.

Alright new rule, if you demand a trade you should no longer have the ability to block a trade because of a NTC.
Of course Heatley has been on 2 nhl teams and demanded a trade from both of them. I wouldn't give up anything of value for him now.

If I'm Brian Murray, I say "Look, that's your trade. You accept that deal or you stay on this team." At this point, Heatley's just embarrassing himself.

Tampa should take this as a success and stop now... Maybe sign some depth players... but nothing major.

I was thinking the same thing......if we can afford it maybe another top 6 though. Then stop. Dont go to crazy on free agency last year. No offense to hall, but unless baring a trade to get that number 1 pick, I dont want him.

I agree. Last year was our big year for Free Agency. Sign a backup goalie and one or two depth players and start looking towards September.
The only top-six player I wouldn't mind us at least pursuing, however, is Chad LaRose.

You could make the same arugment about Prospal concerning off-and-on years. Plus, LaRose is only 27.

prospal has proved he can score in most years, maybe not all, but I don't think larose is a true top 6 guy

Ummmm... TSN just reported that Tampa Bay was in the running for Hossa and came close before he signed with Chicago.

ROR
Feaster as an "NHL Insider" on TSN.
Anyway, as a part-time Hawks fan, I'm glad about the signing of Hossa. I'm not too sure I'd feel about him on the Bolts in what TSN said was true about us being in the fight. At 5 mil per for 12 years, we wouldn't be able to handle that.
Matt Walker 4 y 1.7 mil per year from TSN. Just reported.
