there is major egg on sportsnet and the score faces for reporting that this was done and talking about it on air, once again tsn proves that they are the best in the business, BOB MCKENZIE FOR PM, since i stayed up for this crap, Happy Canada Day , hard to believe someone would be hated more than Yashin here but welcome to the club Heatley

Thats provably the worst part of this. We're going to be hearing that all summer. Whatever we've gotten used to it.

It just isn't a true NHL offseason until Edmonton gets majorly burned by a notable player.

Everything feels right now.

Yep, he honors the NTC, but not the contract. Nice.

Danny Heatley is really a unique kind of loser, isn't he?

Maybe Bettman had that one on one with Murray like I suggested

What kind of loser asks to be traded, yet nullifies the one deal they reached to get him out of town? Does he not like playing under pressure?

Jesus, he's killing his career here. Now is nobody going to want him, his own organization is going to turn on him, if they haven't already.

Talk about digging your own grave here. LOSER is appropriate for this guy.

Why do the Oilers even try anymore?

They really need to just build from within... They can't even get Alberta boys to go there, unlike Calgary. Maybe they should try to lure Edmonton players there, instead of going after the Calgary born ones? Would that work? Probably not.

I don't know, I think Heatley should get a standing ovation for rejecting that deal.

Wow....

As an Oilers fan, this goes with the territory. Sure I am p*****, but I have become callous (thanks Pronger!)

I feel really bad for the Sens though. They are bent over the barrel in the worst way possible.

I can see Ottawa getting peanuts for this guy

Aren't we all jumping the gun here??

I'm going to reserve judgment until I hear what Eklund has to say about this.

This sucks big time. How can Heatley want to play in Edmonton less than in Ottawa?

They could always suspend him Ala Avery. Poor sportsmanship/teammate/cancer.

Player signs a long term deal with NMC then demands a trade and refuses to waive it is pretty immoral imo.

Whoever leaked the names of the Oilers players in the deal will have some explaining to do. I bet it was Brian Lawton.

I Assure You, Tsn Will Know First.
They know. Now what?

I still wonder if this has any effect on the psyche of Cogliano, Smid...does that effect a player's confidence with his franchise? I guess they're professionals, but some players are probably emotionally fragile or insecure...

The Rangers have the pieces to bump up the value in this trade I feel, if Ottawa is interested...they got some "bonus" assets today, if they want to deploy them, they might be able to make something work...
