8 OTs is a symptom of impending Playoffs. And this is a good thing. One more week...then hockey everynight!

I think OT is sweet... but that's because a lot of Canuck games can be decided in OT.

Wasn't it 7 OT's?

One was the Bruins and they now have the NHL Record for OT played in a season with 29. Is this good or bad? Thats 37% of there games went to OT

I believe that St Louis and Vancouver both tied the NHL record for OT wins in a season with 11, as well.

I think for you guys it's pretty good. I mean, you have 99 pts right now, the Habs only have 91, but have more wins than the Bruins. Now, 7 of your OTs ended in losses for the Bruins and you have 14 ties (which is 2nd in the league I think), so that's an extra 21 pts which could have potentially just been losses. Overall it's good I'd say.

Oddly, I think the last two games between us went to OT - and we both won once - but each team got pts out of both.

A lot of teams seem to be pretty content with playing for a tie and taking their chances in OT.

This is why I am a big supporter of the rule change to make regulation wins worth 3 points instead of two.

Hopefully that would encourage more teams to lay it all on the line in regulation.

Despite beeing opposed to OTL point... I bet MTL fans liked this point on Saturday, right?

I was nice to clinch playoff berth.

This is not to start a war.

Never going to work. Only thing that does is give a team less reason to risk losing a game to a conference opponent, because one mistake costs you three points instead of two.

After Sunday, no more ties. NOTHING is more exciting than a 5 overtime game. I've seen 2 5 OT's, a 4 OT, and a bunch of 3 OT's and I can never bring myself to turning those games off.

That's why the NHL should just rank teams based on wins with ties being the first tiebreaker. Get rid of points all together.
