i liked vern, it was just frustrating to see Trotz try to miscast him as a scoring grinder. Trotz absolutely LOVED fiddler, and always tried to reward him for being the kind of player he could relate to by putting him in situations he had absolutely no business being in(top six, power play, etc) that said, it's not vern's fault..and he is a very good PK specialist, and won't hurt you even strength(though he does go offsides a maddening amount, mostly due to poor hockey sense).

Also, he'll net you a few breakaway\shootout goals with his backhand. The first few times, you'll be impressed. But then, as goalies catch on that it's his ONLY MOVE, you'll start to become frustrated.

Well, his one move should be good for eleven goals. I'm happy with eleven goals.

He has funny strategies for delaying faceoffs. He's notorious for fixing his tape and chatting up with the linesmen in order to get him and his linesmates a few extra seconds to catch their breath. It makes me laugh.

Real hard working player. You'll be happy with him.

What is the big EFFING WHOOP?!?!?!?!?
Well, if you were a Nashville fan you would understand b/c you root for a cash strapped team operating with ownership that has financial troubles and can't just act like $300,000 is noth.... wait, nevermind.

Well, look at it from our perspective. We were dead last in the NHL in F/O%, last season. We were third to last in PK%, last season. We are also in desperate need of more veteren leadership, and the consistant effort, hustle, and professionalism that comes with the more experienced players. Basically, we were a team full of a bunch of kids who burned out and couldn't bring it everynight. We couldn't win faceoffs to save our lives and our penalty kill was a disaster. Vernon Fiddler seems like a good fit, even if we gave him 250k more than we should have. 250k well spent, most likely.

I know the Preds had too many Vernon Fiddlers, and losing him is no real loss. The Coyotes didn't have any Vernon Fiddlers, and gaining him may turn out to be much more valuable than it could possibly appear on the surface.
