For one of the best pure offensive talents on the Leafs I'll take it.

If the guy was consistent and didn't fade away like he did, he would no doubt be in the 70 point+ range

That's a pretty fair contract, considering Grabs' age and upside.

If they're counting on him as a top-6 player (which they obviously are), then that's a good deal, providing he produces at a decent clip.

a lot for one year of 20 goals and 5'10 too boot.
shall we expect more of the same 7OA drafting in TO?

someone posted this on another message board

To put it in perspective,
Gionta's 20 goals = 5mill
Grabovski's 20 goals = 2.9mill

Overpaid by $1.3 million. He hasn't proved anything.

Wow. A good move by Burke. If he can keep Ponikarovsky-Grabovski-Kulemin long term for under 10 million he'll have one of the most cost effective 2nd lines in the league.

Great deal for Grabovski, can't say the same about the Leafs though.

lol

This isn't even a bad deal. Certainly not underpaid that's for sure.

I would have offered 2.5-2.75, 2.9 isn't bad at all.

That's a good contract if you're banking on him improving over the next three years.

bit on the high side but nothing too incredible.

At least he'll have about 12 goons protecting him when he dodges SKost again.

Say what you want about sending Mcdonagh there, but if you read the press conference you'll figure out why he did it.. also correct me if im wrong but we have many blue collar defensive prospects who have whopping potential.. i.g. subban, weber, carle

First full season in the NHL and gets 20 goals and almost 50 points, 2.9 million ain't bad.

He's a good, young player.

Thankfully, we avoid arbitration. He's going to get better and better. We really didnt want to lose him at all, so half a million of overpayment is certainly something we're more than happy living with.

Good job, Burkie and Nonis !!

Nah, Grabovski is willing to go.

It's not a deal, but it's not over payment. It's in the fair/good deal range. A little more than what he should have got, but not a crap load more like Gomez.

2.9M is good enough, I don't care if he gets 30-40 points next season, as long as he screws around with the Habs, its worth it. I didn't watch many Leafs games last year, but the Habs vs Leafs game I would specifically force into my schedule!

Habs vs Leafs at local pubs = Great fun
