Everyone is excited at the moment. Besides it's fun to speculate.

If you want to examine the perils of rushing a kid into the NHL as a teenager, look no further than our old friend Nik Antropov.
doesn't matter how old he is, all that matters is how mature he is.
i'd say it's not likely but not entirely impossible either if you ask me

Korp Anisimov Zherdev
Byers Boyle Brashear

Sounds good

thoughts?
What is he doing on the second line?

Well that line looks as if it would be the first line. I dont think they were ordered right. Any line with Gaborik is essentially the first line.

Dubinsky will be playing with Gaborik.
I'd personally like to see
Zherdev - Dubinsky - Gaborik

Although I'm not sure if Zherdev would play LW.

Injuries do occur and Grachev will more than likely get a shot next season. May not be from day 1, but it will happen and he may stick sooner than you think.

Some nice line combos. What a difference adding a guy like this makes to the lineup.

These would be my ideal lines. Pretty dam solid lines too.

*Edit:Alright, after thinking about it I like these lines.

Zherdev-Drury-Gaborik
Avery-Dubinsky-Higgins
Korpedo-Amsinov-Cally
Brashear-Boyle-Byers

I love cally but I think Higgins is better suited for the second line.

Give him 1'st line ice time and someone like Gaborik to pass to and he will play anywhere. Zherdev is a very creative passer and it would be nice to see another skilled player with him to actual take a nice pass and finish.

Gaborik can play both sides just as well.

Korps-Drury-Gabo (korps can fly and is also defensively responsible. plus a wicked wrist shot)
Higgins-Dubi-Zherdev (balance of scoring, grit, defensive responsibility)
Grachev-Ani-Cally (could maybe be too young, but should be interesting)
avery-boyle-Brashear (biggest pain in the ass ever)

or if Grachev isn't ready than move Avery up to3lw and put Byers in 4lw

Yeah because no player in the NHL has ever played his off wing...

But I don't think he's done yet, so its kind of a pointless exercise at this point.
looks good. If he is out for more forwards, doesn't he have to move some out of the way? I guess Voros is our 13th forward. myeh. What do people think of Joel Lundqvist as our 14th forward?

I don't think we can get Joel, im pretty sure he was given a six year contract to play in the Swedish league, the SEL or w.e it is called.

Yeah, I'd want to try that first, because if it does click, it could be pretty awesome.

If it doesn't work with Zherdev on the left, I think Avery could end up there, barring another move (which is certainly possible).

And yeah I'm almost certain it'll be Dubi with Gabs. I have this gut feeling that he's going to step up big this season and be up for it. Higgins-Dru-Cally seems like a great second line for me.

I think we can get him, I aint sure but I think he have a contract with Frölunda with a clause. If he finds a nhl team he want to be in during the free agency, joel can break the contract with Frölunda. And I think he would be glad to be close to his brother.

as far as pk forwards what do we even have anymore? drury, korpedo, callahan? does boyle work the pk? is dubi or aves up for it? betts/sjo will be sorely missed for sure. as far as lines i like

Higgins, Dubinsky, Gaborik
Zherdev, Drury, Callahan
Avery, Anisimov, Korpikoski
Brashear, Boyle, Byers

Z carries the puck on the second line best, while higgins hopefully takes out the trash for gaborik who will be creating on the first. 3rd line is rock solid, i wonder if the 4th can be a nice checking line with defensive responsibilities. the question then becomes, what line goes out against the other teams' top forwards? Drury's probably our most accomplished defensive forward but you want Z's lazy backcheck vs crosby etc? A lot of questions remain unanswered.

Umm...he killed penalties last year with both Drury and Callahan.

i know, what i meant to say is are they up for having the responsibility of being the 1st pk unit, which had been strictly betts/sjo. I'm guessing that would be a new experience for both of them in that regard.
