The Rangers managed to dump Gomez. Gaborik almost exactly fills in that salary void. The Canadiens had like half their team go into free agency. So they've swapped Koivu, Tanguay, Kovalev, and Komisarek for Gomez, Cammalleri, Gionta, and Spacek.

Hawks also had 12+ freed up between Havlat and Khabibulin. They can free up another 2.33 million by hiding Brent Sopel in the minors as well. They won't be in cap hell until next season when Kane, Toews, and Keith are RFA. Unless somebody throws Penner-esque offer sheets at Versteeg or Barker.

It's funny how our "fans" say Lombardi has done nothing and has dropped the ball, but fans from other teams say, so far we have been shut out. Weird how fans from other teams are more in tune with reality than people on here are...

well, lets say we do sign Havlat, will everyone be happy.
I don't think everyone would be happy, actually. I would be, but to sign him, in the eyes of most we would be getting boned on the money figure. But to sign anyone that is what it will take.

LUBE. IT. UP.

The only top-six guy I don't want is Kovalev. The rest, sign 'em up.

I'd have singed Gaborik to that deal. Gaborik is a high risk/high reward signing and I'm ready for the Kings to take a gamble.

The thing that I really liked about the idea was seeing what Gaborik can do when his whole team's gameplan isn't 99% defense first. Of course, the risk part of it could bite the Ranger's in the ass too.

Well I still don't think were getting Havlat, I think hes gonna want money in the range of Gabby and DL won't pay that. I see him going to Minnesota or possibly Ottawa.

I think Havlat and Moen are the only ones left that I would want. Maybe Tanguay. But that's it.

I still like Havlat, Samuelsson and Beauchemin. Other than that I'd just pass and give the minutes to Moller.

HNIC radio was saying Burke was hard after Moen to solidify his 4th line in Toronto and help the team become tougher.

After today dont wee us signing anyone that really matters...

Renewing my season seats really came down on what happened today.. all I can say is..

Bye Bye season seats.. Will be attending games and watching on TV and supporting my Kings but dont see the point of spending all that $$$ when team does not.

What the **** does "shut out" mean? Are you really of the opinion and buying into the ******** that star players don't want to play here? This reminds me of Ahmadinejad telling people that the 130% voter turnout around Iran doesn't smack of any wrongdoing and it's all US, Britian and Israel's fault...I mean, are you serious because the level of obtuseness is giving me a migraine.

So far the teams trying to dump salary have made out pretty well.

I see Tanguay. LW. Veteran. Stanley Cup experience. Shouldn't require Lombardi to break the bank. Fits most of the criteria.

Here comes the fun part. Remember the last time Dean would not sign dick and the "panic" signings that he made? Part II?

Leaving now. Will check in later after I take Mrs. Zad out for dinner.
