I like the idea of Kovalev and Frolov this year.

Plus Kovalev could be a good veteran for the young Russians in the orgnization

I'll bring the popcorn. Sign Kovalev Dean. It will be worth it, especially if it's just a one year deal.

King fans - Don't forget that there are some teams out there that are going to have cap problems. DL just might be waiting till the dust settles and then start trading for players at bargin basement prices. Just a thought

Sad enough...This team is so awful that Havlat alone wont help. I wouldn't be happy with just Havlat anymore. Really dropped the ball here.

Chicago is a year ahead of us blah blah...

They have been making moves for the last couple years to put themselves where they are at.

Veteran netminding, power forwards, bringing in dmen...

EVERYTHING WE ARE NOT DOING

Gawd I would give up so much for even a Jeff Ladd at this point. Why are they doing it and we are not????

Montreal, Chicago, Philly cap problems seem to be hampering them alot.

Calder, Preissing, Thornton, Nagy were our last bargain basement guys...

Eh, ok maybe $1M too much. I think the thing that made him pass was the term.

Lombardi is looking to sign someone for three years I think.

Havlat is down to Minn and Vancouver.

I won't be mad if we don't do anything as long as FROLOV IS RE-SIGNED. If we do nothing and Frolov bolts for nothing...I will shoot myself.

I'd be down with a 2 year 10 mill deal for Kovalev.

Frolov-Kopitar-Kovalev

If this is true. HOPEFULLY NO!

Then, isn't Kovalev not considered a character guy? Wasn't Kovalev benched last year because of lack of effort? Filler, yeah right!

Also, wouldn't this suggest that all of Lombardi's theatrics are bunch of no-truths... that's it's all a show-PR thing that at least they signed a washed out someone? That the reality and fact is that Dean has a budget he cannot go over...?

That is the reality if this happens because it contradicts all statements he had said.

Again, HOPEFULLY NOT.

Edit: Kovalev - That's the best Dean can do.... WOW!

Again, HOPEFULLY NOT.

Just like Montreal got Gomez for nothing? The cap isn't hurting these teams as much as Dean leads us to believe. They can always pawn off the Gautiers of their teams for midlevel prospects.

It seems like Lombardi wants his cake and to eat it too. That's a little bit delusional of him, to be honest. It's FA, that's not how it tends to work.

How many years in a row has this supposedly been the case?

And who are we going to poach, exactly? Briere?
