I was thinking trade Gaborik for to STL for Junlund, Fairchild and whoever else or to NSH for Franson, Blum, etc, Those teams are loaded at D and the Wild would benefit from these prospects. I guess that idea is dead though. There is still Harding to trade though so its not all bad.
Almond, McMillan, Gillies, Kalus, Falk, and probably more is enough in Houston. That means that other prospects like Sheppard, Pouliot, Scandella, Cuma, Leddy, and more are where they belong too. Don't get caught up in Houston. Teams NEVER have much on their AHL team.
The shelf in Houston is BARE as far as soon to be NHL caliber talent. So some names came to mind. Right off the bat, what would it take to get these guys?
F. Bouchard - (PMB's little bro) for Corey Locke or Kolanos and 2010 mid pick
Luca Caputi- (OHL) but ready for the AHL at least. Same deal for him.
Trade Benoit Pouliot for Brian Boyle. (we need a big Center)
anyone have any other players that come to mind?
-Corey Locke does not belong to Minnesota any more. The Rangers signed him on July 3rd. Even prior to July 1st, which is when you posted this, why would any team trade for him when they could just sign him?
-Krys Kolanos also does not belong to the Wild any more. He is a UFA.
-Luca Caputi is not only ready for the AHL, he played there in 2008-09. He also happened to score a goal in his first NHL game. Good luck trading for him.
