All-time Flyers roster

Just wanna see what y'all would do if you had to come up with 4 foward lines, 3 defensive pairs, and 2 goalies out of all Flyer teams past and present.

Line 1: Reggie Leach - Bobby Clarke - Bill Barber

Line 2: Tim Kerr - Eric Lindros - John LeClair

Line 3: Simon Gagne - Rod Brind'Amour - Sami Kapanen

Line 4: Dave Schultz - Dave Brown - Bob Kelly

D pairing 1: Mark Howe - Kimmo Timonen

D pairing 2: Ed Van Impe- Eric Desjardins

D Pairing 3: Joe Watson - Moose Dupont

Goalies:
Bernie Parent
Pelle Lindbergh

HM:
Rick MacLeish
Rick Tocchet
Ron Hextall
Mark Recchi
Barry Ashbee
Brad Marsh
Peter Forsberg
Mikael Renberg
Jeremy Roenick
Jim Watson
Keith Primeau

I purposly left the "kids" off this list, as we havent even begun to see how the careers of Carter, Richards, Grioux, Coburn, etc pan out. Tough to put a 3 year pro on the best of team yet.

I'd certainly have Pronger there on the first pairing, I'll give this a shot later.

Coffey was also alright back in the day, haha.

Leclair should be with Lindros. Forsberg has to make this team.

I think it should be how the player was while he was on the flyers if that makes sense. which would mean no coffey/oates and guys like that. the player should also have had to have player a full season with the club.

Btw, kapanen belongs absolutely nowhere near a flyers all-time roster. I would put tocchet in his place. I would find a place to put Recchi in there too. I would also switch barber and LeClair as well as Desjardins and Timonen.

I based my team off their work with the Flyers. Coffey was good for Philly dont get me wrong, but he played here for like a year.

Foppa was a touch choice. and i wanted to do the LCB line as line 1 and the Legion of doom as line 2.

Thats what I was thinking, which also is one main reason Forsberg isnt on my team.

Kapanen is there because of his versitilty and intangibles he brought to the team. I also wanted to touch base with players from the entire history of the team, and felt Sami fit my criteria.

I dont know, a lot of guys in Flyers history have brought a lot more to the table than sami in pretty much every way possible other than heart. the fact is though, he didnt produce here and was never more than a 3rd liner and if your going to go with energy, hard working type players I think someone like tocchet or recchi would fit better.

Which is why Sami is on the 3rd line

In all seriousness tho, I wanted tocchet but Sami got the nod simply on the time he played(2000's). I couldnt even entertain Carter, Richards, etc cuz of how young they are. In all honesty Id dress Tocchet over Sami most nights, and use Sami as a spare player.

by your logic of coffee playing 94 games over 2 seasons isnt that far off from lindberghs total of 117. without tugging at the heartstrings, how far diffrent is coffee? again based on your logic of the amount of games played.

Is this "in their prime" or "in their prime with the flyers?"

He had one excellent playoff run. That's it. He doesn't beat the center's already listed, and others that weren't even listed.
