...for Jozef friggin' Balej! This kid is getting better every game and tonight he's putting on a show. 2 assits so far tonight off of goals from Messier and Pock, a sweet blinding speed breakaway, pulled 3 moves, had Biron almost tripping over himself, but BARELY stopped the shot by just throwing the glove up and luckly having it get in the way. Almost had another breakaway afew minutes later that was just tipped away from him at the last second. That's where we stand so far at the end of two periods.
The guy's like a young Bure with bleached hair. Real good stuff just incase anybody here is still following the guy.

Don't worry, we can't use all of our prospects, and we keeped the best of 'em!
Sucks to have one of the most gifted players in hockey...
Kovalev is not one of the most gifted players in hockey, what he is isan aging veteran that is living off is past reputation. What has he done the past two years?

After the Iginla - Nieuwendyk trade, this is the Balej - Kovalev one! Way to go Bob!
LOL, that means we win the cup. Sigh you people are look at 10-15 games and think thats whats going to happend forever. It's really sad. Balej has 5 points, OHHHHHHHHH, big deal.

Yeah Kovalev was a nice gamble but it's always interesting too keep an eye on Balej ... a bit like we did with Eric Chouinard in philly aaron asham in nyl , john leclair ... you will always heard that kind of commets especally with young player traded when they haven't reached their potential . No big deal but that's the way it is , trades happen .

Now let's hope our gamble on Kovy will pay off
lol, do you remember the words after Chouinard left, OMG WHAT HAPPEND HE IS GREAT WITH PHILLY, blah blah blah. Turns out he really does suck everywhere. So people give it more time.
I'm glad Balej is fitting in and doing well with the Rangers.
He's a good little player but just had no future in a Habs organization that's trying to get bigger. We have many excellent prospects in the wings that were ahead of Balej in the depth chart, and I honestly couldn't have seen Balej ever winning a top 6 position with the Habs.
I'm glad he's getting the chance to do so with another team and wish him the best of luck.

Atleast we try... Balej was our leading scorer, sorry, would still be the leading scorer in Hamilton (if he was still there, of course). I never supported the deal from the beginning, but it has been awesome for my NHL 2004 team on PS2! Too bad Kovalev isn't clicking yet. Hopefully Perezhogin turns out to be a younger and better version of Balej.

yes 31 use to be considered prime, but not any more right????

Seriously though. You'd think that people watching the Messiers, Leetches (is that the proper plural? looks funny), and others wouldn't think 31 is that old. Just because it has been a few years since his big numbers doesn't mean anything. If we put him with a Mario Lemieux tomorrow he'd get a hat trick! Too bad, huh? If we give him a year I bet he clicks a lot better. He better not cost over 3 Mil though.
