How about...

To Los Angeles: A 2010 1st round draft pick, Jiri Tlusty, and Lee Stempniak.
To Toronto: Jack Johnson.

Pretty sure Boston would take Johnson/Moller for Kessel. An interesting scenario to be sure.

LA's coaches love Moller, I'd be surprised if they throw him in.

I'd do Johnson straight up for Kessel just for the irony.

How about Hickey instead of JMFJ.

To Bos: Hickey, Purcell and 2010 1st

To LA: Kessel and 2010 2nd

Even trade then we sign Kessel to a 5 mil per deal for 7-8 years. He's only 21 and had a 36 goal season. Only gonna get better.

Then after that, sign Frolov & JMFJ to an extension and we're good.

Kessel- Kopitar- Williams
Frolov- Handzus- Brown
Moen (still possible)- Stoll- Simmonds
Ivanans- Lewis- Richardson

Doughty- JMFJ
Scuderi- Greene
O'D- Quincey

Great lineup IMO. We have the money to do all these things. If only we find a way to get Moen for cheap, around 1.5 a year. Also pay JMFJ 3 mil a year max over 5-6 years.

P.S. on another note, are we still paying Preissing that 3 mil a year contract?

$2,750,000 for two more years.

I doubt anyone will take this contract unless the Kings give up a 2nd or 3rd rounder with him, and get an average prospect or a one-year salary dump player for him in return (like a Kubina-type contract).

Otherwise, he'll be in Manchester this year, then bought out in the offseason is my guess.

I think it is possible....but if Dean cannot unload his contract I think he will be bought out this year......that would save AEG almost a million dollars....might not seem like much....but even Millionaires hate to waste money.

Last thing DL wants to do is buy him out AT ALL with the cap potentially coming down. I think DL might like the idea of having a veteran presence in Manchester, especially for Hickey and the young guys who are down there.

and AEG is owned by a Billionaire, not a millionaire... but I hear he puts his pants on just like you and me... and likes hot dogs too. and apparently, he could be sitting right next to you this very second and you wouldn't know it.

The overall savings from the buyout would be $1,833,332 with a buyout cap hit of $916,667 for four seasons.

And they still complain about 50 cent hot dogs being too expensive at IKEA.

The rich are typically more stingy then most.

I know....but if he was bought out after playing a year in Manchester the Kings owuld only save $916,667....hence my "that would save AEG almost a million dollars" comment.

Agreed....just because somebody has a lot of money does not mean they just laugh off losing $1 million. They became rich by not throwing money away.

Kessel doesnt want to play out west. Not that it would be up to him in this sort of scenario, but I think that's a guy that, unless he has some considerable success, is gone when he reaches UFA. Not to mention possibly disgruntled while here.

If the Bruins can't afford to keep Kessel, what makes you think they could take on Johnson/Preissing?

Good point....if they did it as a strict salary dump it would most likely be a prospect and/or a high draft pick.

I just love this type of comment. How the **** do you possibly know whether or not Kessel or anyone else wants to play west or anywhere else?

Would a Ference and Sturm deal for Johnson work?

He doesn't. Wheeler was the one who wanted to be in the east.

That all depends on how willing Preissing is to play such a role. If he isn't willing to accept and make the best of it, but rather be a malcontent about it like Cloutier, there is no way Dean lets him infect his prospects mind with anti-Kings babble.

I'm very curious to see what happens. I'm with its a trade or buyout situation this summer.

Not for me it wouldn't.

Also, I repeat, once again... Kessel would suck in LA.

I just don't think Kessel would mesh with this group or Murray. I don't think he'd put up those numbers here either.
