Kings re-sign Kevin Westgarth (3-yrs)

Kings re-sign enforcer Kevin Westgarth for 3 years. Kevin was an RFA. No word on financials but it's probably the typical minor leaguer pay around $700,000 or so.

His brother was also signed by the Isles earlier today.

Probably a cap hit of 650k or so for 3 yrs. I can't imagine he gets much more than Ivanans makes ($600k cap hit).

Agreed. He's in the last year of his deal, and it appears the Kings like Westgarth more. Any chance he could beat Ivanans out in camp for the roster spot?

Neither of them showed much of anything last year. Except for like, three games, when Ivanans turned into a sniper.

But yea, Drago's days might be numbered. Westgarth reminds me of the bash brothers from the Mighty Ducks movies. Hopefully, when he fights someone, he can bring some energy to the team.

Oh, also, Ivanans didn't fight much last season. I honestly think people were afraid to fight him. That, or he just sucks, and won't go after anyone *cough*Artyukhin*cough*

Maybe, if not I'm sure Dean will find a spot for him on another team. We like to predict guys who will and will not pass through waivers, but these type of fighter/goon types almost always seem to get plucked off waivers - maybe more than guys who actually deserve to be claimed and aren't.
