Bauer 4500 or Reebok 4k

I'm in the market for new helmets but I'm unsure of which to pick.

I've always had Coopers and Bauer's. I wear the Bauer 3000 helmet but it's time to replace it.

I was wondering for those of you who have tried both, which are more comfortable? Which provide more protection? Which one would you go with of the two? Is going from a bauer to a reebok a huge difference or does it not even matter?

Don't forget the new Bauer 5100.
I tried all and the RBK 4K was the best fitting VN helmet for my melon...

They fit differently. RBK is a fairly wide helmet typically, I would try both on first, but you're probalby going to fit the Bauer better.

Different type of padding then he likes though. I agree it's a great helmet though, works great for me.

Well, I've never tried it but I've heard that a lot of people have issues with sweat getting in their eyes.

From the responses I've see, since I have more of a narrow than round head and I'm use to a bauer, I should stick to the bauer.

You should also consider the CCM Vector 08. I have both the V08 and 4500 and I find the V08 more comfortable.

Whatever is more comfortable. Thats my opinion, at least. Bauer fits my head the best in the lower priced helmets so thats what I wear.

Anyone know if the 4K and the 8K fit the same?

Also, if you have W shoes, would you get EE in the Bauer One 35s or just the regular?

I'm not exactly in a place where I can just go try a bunch of stuff on...

The 4k, 6k and 8k fit the same. Of course the padding is different and you get more adjustments with the 8k.
But if the 4K fits you well, than the 8K of the same size will also.

I tried on a few helmets the other day. Can't remember if there was a Bauer there or not, but the RBK 8k felt the best. I'm thinking of going with the 4K though, since it's so much cheaper.

Anywyas the 4K's are on sale at a bunch of places in my area, so if it fits, then its great for the price

If you can find an Intake i would try that on. Its not the prettiest helmet, but it is comfy as ****. And they go for a decent price these days.

Intake is a great helmet, I wanted one but the fit was just odd for me. I had pressure points with the hard foam at the back, on each side of the Mission Head Lock thingy...
