That's an AMAZING deal. So...

Smyth - Kopitar - Williams
Frolov - Stoll - Brown

As a top 6?

Exactly. People think he's Lidstrom.. He's not. He's a 4th-6th defenseman at best. Friggin STEAL.

Great deal by Dean. Gets rid of his mistake and Quincey was a waiver pickup. That 5th is nothing.

Now let's get Frolov and JJ signed long term.

I agree, and hopefully this means JJ is close to signing and he'll finally get his PP minutes.

Quincey was either going to get overpaid after next year or we would have cut him loose; getting Ryan Smyth is better than those options.

Cap'n Ron, I am likely with you on this one. I don't like it. Why are we trading Quincey who has a great contract and some more upside for this ridiculous, awful contract. Do you realize this means we will not be able to get Kovie. Or make an ofeer sheet for Kane/Toews. This totally handcuffs us for a guy whoe best years are FARRRRR behind him . Don't like this at all.

He was playing with an injured back. Still a good trade.

Hopefully Hickey > Quincey

Quincey, a $5.5 million salary dump, and a fifth rounder. Great deal.

I cant be upset with this even if I wanted to, and I so badly don't want to be upset. i want to be psyched and this move is getting me there. Quincey was an asset of which we have many particularly defenceman. Preissing, was well, a drain on resources and not likely to see the light of day in LA again.

Gaborik would have been preferrable to me, but I'm feeling alot better today than Wednesday. I guess DL knows about every good army needing acouple of criminals first hand, because he just committed grand larceny in stealing a quality leadership player from Colorado.

The very faint light at the end of the tunnel is either rushing toward me at greater speed or its getting brighter. MAYBE, HOPEFULLY, BOTH!!!

Tik, PSP, and Cap'n Ron, Please tell me that this gets you even a bit excited.

Wow, I do literally nothing all day, step away for 30 minutes and come back to this!

AMAZING trade.

I'm not the biggest Smyth fan, but he is the perfect mentor for Brown. He scores the dirty goals, and has character coming out his ass.

What a deal. Losing Quincey does suck, but this opens a spot for Hickey or Voynov. Just getting rid of Preissing is great. Wow. What a deal. Dean fleaced them!

Hate to break it to you, but Quincey isn't that good. He's good. That's it. 4th-6th defenseman at best.

And for a guy like Ryan Smyth his best years arent exactly "far behind him." He does what he does. Grinds it out, and is good for at least 20 goals. How can you hate this deal?
