At the end of the year, yeah, his whole game was way off. But when we first got him and before his back went wonky...then I'd say we must've been watching different games.

I can't remember how many goals were scored because Quincey was not at the right place at the right time. The Improperly Positioned Quincey was only slightly better than the Classic Gauthier Turnover, although both were miles behind the OD Pylon
I totally agree. Just because he came here and dished it to the side boards to Kopitar and he gets a 2nd assist doesn't mean he's good. Anybody can do that.

It was a great 1 year spell for Quincey after being claimed off waivers, he made himself alot of money when he hits arbitration.

Who knows how good Quincey will be down the road. Regardless, he's a good kid, played well for us and should be an NHLer for a long time. I hate to see him go, but we need Smyth and have plenty of depth on defense. Best of good fortune to you Kyle.

Eh, can't totally help you. Frankly, when it took so long to sign POS, I didn't think his spot on the team long-term was safe.

Quincey was surpassed in defensive play least season by Doughty, O'Donnell, and Greene. Johnson allowed more goals while he was on the ice but faced tougher matchups. From the stats Quincey seems to be below average to average defensively but certainly not awful. And he's only 23.

I agree. It was disturbing how many times you'd see someone score on the Kings from right in front of the crease with a Kings d-man sitting idly by, watching his man collect a goal. That d-man was usually KQ.

Doughty and Greene were obviously above him

Drewiske and OD were at different times of the season more reliable than KQ

As I said in another thread, I think that Frolov made that "second" powerplay unit click, and Quincey benefited from it a lot
I guess being second in icetime on the team equals a 5-6 guy right? I guess leading a team in points is a 5-6 guy right?

And how did he benefit from the 2nd power play when he spent most of his time playing on the first?

He got a lot of icetime playing on the powerplay.

And by 5-6 guy, I mean how good he was for the Kings.

I call that the 2nd unit, because I always think of the Kopitar/Doughty unit as the first one

He was a real pleasant surprise and he made the team much better last season. Good luck in Colorado.

Its funny how we got rid of the guy that gets the shots through and on net for tip ins and rebounds for a person who makes his living off of rebounds and tip ins it would have been nice to see KQ feeding Smyth those shots day in and day out

he will be a good player for Colorado...However, at this point in his career, hes more of a PP specialist (Hence only 11 of his 38 point coming 5-5).

But i still have much respect for him and he added me on facebook, so major props for that!!

I loved Kyle Quincey! Great pickup by the Kings and we got some good return for him to boot! He did quite well for us considering he was playing through some pain. Hopefully he is healthy and does well with the Avs!

He also saw alot of time even strength and some on the PK as well. The guy played like a top 4 guy when it was asked of him.
