HFBoards TOP 100 ranking: Forwards #23

Now that the season and playoffs are over, I thought we'd do an "HFBoards ranking" for each position.

So basically, who (of the following) is the best forward in the NHL? ie. which forward would you want on your team for next year only? (independent of their respective salary)

Vote away.

Ranking so far

1. Ovechkin
2. Malkin
3. Crosby
4. Datsyuk
5. Kovalchuk
6. Iginla
7. Getzlaf
8. Zetterberg
9. Thornton
10. Lecavalier

11. Parise
12. E.Staal
13. M.Richards
14. Nash
15. Heatley
16. Hossa
17. Alfredsson
18. Savard
19. St.Louis
20. Gaborik

21. Spezza
22. Semin

Backstrom, then Elias.

Add Ribeiro.

What's with all the Vanek love? He was only a PPG player once in his career and scored exactly 64 points in both of the last two seasons. And its not like he has an edge in defense or intangibles over Backstrom or Elias.

He scored 64 points playing with a broken jaw for the last 20 or so games.
He had the least TOI and games played of all 40 goal scorers.
His assist totals suck because his linemates couldn't finish for the first half of the season.
From the all star break last year to the broken jaw this year he was the best or second best goalscorer in the league.
