i would say on the 1st line with koivu & zednik.... not on the 2nd line... because that would mean that dagenais wouldnt play ... wich would be a big mistake...
Dagenais had around 20 goals this year... in what 50 games.... a lot better then Kovalev did.....
i don't say that to say that Dagenais is a better player then Kovalev... because Kovalev have 100 times more talent then Dagenais.
Gainey didn`t bring Kovalev in the kill penaltys he brought him in to play on one of the top lines. He`s having a bad stretch but he`s been having one for most of the year. Why put him on the 3rd line and take what`s remaining of his confidence.
Kovalev HAS to be on the first line. I dont care if its right wing or left he has to be there. We picked him up for his incredible talent, imagine what will happen if we play him with our 2 most outstanding playoff warriors, theyre going unstoppable. Zednik killed the bruins playing with Petrov and Gilmour (at the end of his career) so imagine with those two
I would love to see Kovalev with Zednik and Koivu in game #1, but have a hard time believing Julien will play him there. I mean if Julien was thinking about that as an option, why didn't he play him there versus the Sabres.
He was picked up for his offensive abilities. They're still there, just need to be unleashed. I believe he should have been put on the first line and left there from the day he joined the organization. So I voted for the 1st line, but probably will be on the 2nd line to start the series at least.
