Welcome Pierre.
I don't know much about him, so I look forward to hearing what people have to say about this signing.

Seems to have done good work with Vokoun and Anderson last year so he seems like a good choice. The best part though is he works with the goalies strengths. No more down on every shot!

While I was disappointed to hear David Marcoux was no longer in the running, I'm happy to see that Pierre Groulx is on-board. I don't know a lot about his body of work, but we've seen good results in Florida in the goalies under his tutelage.

Welcome Pierre!

It mean anything? Does Roy coach has one? Brodeur? A masters doesn't mean the guys is better than someone else.

I really hope that they did their homework with this guy, that he can recognize that Price needs to go back to his hybrid style and work on that with him as opposed to continue with the damage created by Melanson...

Just FWIW, Chad Anderson is a d-man in Hamilton, I'm guessing you're refering to Craig Anderson!

Good hiring, I can't wait to see what he brings to the table for Price.

Not surprised by this news but extremely disappointed. As I wrote in a previous thread, Groulx is inexperienced as a goalie coach and we all know the great success Montreal has had with inexperienced coaches. Groulx was Florida's video coach until a few seasons ago. It's questionable what impact if any he had on Anderson. I'm assuming it's 0 for Vokoun seeing as he's been in the league for so long. In any case, I believe the success of the goalies in Florida had more to do with the defensive style of game they favored than Groulx. Regardless, It seems like Martin is just hiring his protogé rather than making a decision based on a person's credentials.

As odd as this may sound, your post gives me a bit of hope regarding his potential to teach Price. Here's hoping that he does study older videos of him back when he was in Tri-City and his early days in the AHL so that he can bring him back to his old hybrid style.

Goalie coach hiring

Although I am not surprised, I would have prefered if they hired David Marcoux. He was the best candidate out there. Martin should either hire Eric Desjardins or Larry Robinson as defensive coach.

While nothing bears a reason for me to be displeased with this nomination, some folks must know something I don't: "Pierre Groulx Hired!", I still wonder how this piece of news deserved an exclamation mark and capitalization of the word Hired.

I would be happy to be enlighten on the matter.
