It is folly to try to understand the outcome of the Wheel of Discipline.
In all seriousness, it's too bad it seems like Carcillo is regressing. He seemed to be settling down a bit before the trade. He's going to sabotage his own career.
Maybe there's an unwritten rule and penalty when it comes to Carcillo and the Flyers.
I would love to have Carcillo back where we have 2 goons taking turns having a whack at it.
Carcillo maybe in a position where he has to sign a 2 way deal after his contract is up at the end of the season by us if no one else wants him.
If he won't be a scorer at least he will still be a fan favorite, especially when we are going to lose a game and the punches he throws make the loss more enjoyable. Posted via Mobile Device
I know it's frustrating because the team doesn't say anything about these injuries. But he is chomping at the bit to get back out there.
So it's a concussion, then? Here I was thinking it was something else. I would trade Lepisto and his fairy-like presence for Sauer's sandpaper any day. Can't wait until he is back.

No, it's not a concussion. If you listened to his interview last week he talked about a "whiplash" injury he suffered a couple of years ago in Colorado that was aggravated in the pre-season. The headaches and an inner-ear problem are apparently causing balance issues that are keeping him from getting cleared by the docs. He says he's very close to returning, but not sure if docs agree.
If I was choosing that team right now he wouldn't be on it.
I would have to agree.
I thought a line of Morrows-Richards-Doan would have been fantastic as the fourth line grind and pound.
As for Doan, any areas of his game which are lagging or any insight to his poor production as of late? Did the controversy over the summer with the 'Yotes simply take the wind out of his sails?

Doan doesn't traditionally have strong starts to seasons. He will be fine once he turns starts to turn it on just like he does every year.
Him making the olympic squad would be cool but if he doesn't he is more rested for the last half of the season.
Has anyone heard anything new on Sauer? Is he dead or something?
He did an interview within the last two weeks saying he's just waiting for medical clearance. Still suffering from headaches and an inner-ear imbalance related to a whiplash injury in Colorado two seasons ago.
However, over the last few weeks he has been absolutely invisible on the scoresheet and he is slowly losing his spot on the Olympic Roster.
Unfortunately, I have only had the opportunity to watch Doan play a couple of times earlier on in the season and have not seen his play as of late.
For those who have been watching him play lately, how has his game been outside of the stats on the scoresheet?
Is there a possibility that Doan is playing with an injury?
I don't really notice any significant difference in Doan's game this year. He has been his regular, tenacious self. He's bulling players around, causing mayhem on the puck, and getting in very good scoring spots. His shots seem to be in quality areas of the ice, not just hopeful point shots and bad angle shots.
I think the bottom line is that he just plain snake-bit right now. He simply cannot get the puck across the redline. In the last two weeks, I can think of at least 6 or 7 plays that easily could have resulted in goals. Very high quality scoring chances -- the empty net backhand he missed in the first period against the Sharks was emblematic. I think it's also playing with his mind -- he thinks he needs to make the perfect shot to get it past the goaltender right now.
His shot total this year is right on his average for a season -- projecting at about 225 or so. I think he's going to end up with a fluky goal or two in the near future and it will open the flood gates. I think every player goes through a stretch like this once in a while.
Has about $750K left on his deal; reportedly won't be able to hit his $1.2M in bonuses which would mean actual payroll outlay of $750K for remainder of the season. Any value to the 'Yotes?
Maybe I should be a CEO with this greedy capitalist attatude! J/K
Is it safe to say that Sauer is not coming back this season? If so I hate to have another buy out on the cap hit.
Don't get me wrong, I wish Kurt well but we also want to move forward as a team and business without anymore problems as it is.
If Kurt Sauer remaining time here is going to be a millionaire cheerleader on payroll then maybe the team needs to part ways with him.
How do we do that? Are you thinking about waiving him? Or buying him out, like we did with Scatchard?
Assuming his career is going to be cut short we find a team(sucker) who feels he can still play and get the most we can without going the buy-out route. Posted via Mobile Device
