He will not see any significant PP time because we have too many forwards that are more gifted offensively.

If 40-50 pts is what you are looking for, Hanzal is not your guy.
Honestly, it's deep enough a league that 35 points is worthy of a starting spot...

Thanks, to everyone, for your input!!!

Yotes Fans,

I drafted both Wolski and Doan on my Fantasy Team.
Are they planning on doing Whitney Wolski Doan or some other variation?

Also are they both on the top PP?
What roles do they play on the PP?

I know alot of this stuff could still be up in the air but any idea of how they fit in and how the lines are shaping up would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Kyle Turris

Hi Phoenix fans,

I just participated in one of those online fantasy drafts, and I acquired Kyle Turris in one of the late rounds (19 or 20th). Hows he looking preseason? I heard that he's most likely starting this year.

Reason I'm asking is because I have 6 centers to choose from:
1) Jeff Carter
2) Travis Zajac
3) Jordan Staal
4) Jason Arnott
5) Chris Drury
6) Kyle Turris

Jordan Staal is injured for I don't know how many games and I have to decide if I want to put Turris or Drury in.

Any help appreciated, sorry if fantasy threads are looked down upon.

My hunch is that Turris outperform Chris Drury this year. Drury isn't getting any younger, and if Turris finally has the physical tools to do some damage--and I doubt he'd be on the opening day roster if he did not--he'll start well and get better as the year goes on.

Leaf fan I come in peace.

Hey, I'm a Leaf fan, just want to know more about one of your players.

Martin Hanzal. I understand he was an RFA this past off-season, I signed him in my NHL 11 game and ever since he's been really growing on me.

I never really knew alot about him, so what type of player is he? Playmaker or a Scorer? Powerforward, what's his potential?

At present, Hanzal is one of the best shutdown centers in the league and is one of the main reasons the Coyotes can compete in the Pacific without a Thornton, a Kopitar, a Getzlaf or a Richards. He's only shown he's good for 30 or 40 points a year, but with what he brings to the table on defense, that's more than enough. Still, he shows flashes now and again of playmaking brilliance, so there's maybe potential there to hit 60 points a few times, but he'll need more productive linemates and, more importantly, he'll need to quicken his decision-making.

As mentioned, he's a great checking guy, but he's also awesome in the corners. He wins most battles, and when he gets the puck, he tends to keep it. I've seen him make very good plays, all he needs there IMO is a little more confidence in his offensive game and more opportunities.

The only thing about Hanzal that's really below average is his shot. I don't think he'll ever be a relevant goal scorer because of it. Give him a breakaway, he won't know what to do with it. He can't get the puck high, his release is slow, accuracy is so-so (tends to shoot straight in the middle).

Still, as long as we can keep him for under $ 3.5 M / yr, I wouldn't go without him. He's an important component, eats tons of minutes, plays hard, and almost never has a bad game.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson

How's he been so far? I predicted him to be a future Norris winner about two years ago when I saw him play for the first time - how's he looking? Any apparent drawbacks in his game from what you've seen?

Not really sure 2 games into the season would give anyone a fair assessment. 2 GP 0 G 0 A 0 Pts -2 4 shots.

They took it away. Thus, he has zero.

It was taken away from him after the game and given to someone else (I don't remember who)

I thought it was a primary assist.

Actually, I think they gave it to Stempniak originally. I'm pretty sure the assist went to Fiddler.

Thinking of dropping Wolski for an extra goalie, he's not looking too good on scoresheet, haven't caught any Coyotes games though how's he looked? Any indication he's gonna get back to form?

Wolski is a streaky player. He'll have a few hot streaks throughout the season, and he'll have a few more cold ones. Owner beware.

FYI
per @renhockey
3 scouts from #bruins. GM Peter Chiarelli is here. Teams are watching the #Coyotes. Seams like Phoenix wants to make a trade

Wheeler?

Maybe that's why we decided to play Prucha? We've scratched him for a while.

I wonder what Donny would want, and what he'd be willing to give up. My impression is that he, like most people, realizes the importance of winning at this particular moment in the history of the franchise... even so, he's not a "blockbuster trade" kind of GM. Plus, there's the league-imposed budget to consider. Hard to believe anything big is on the horizon, or even anything at all.

Is Whitney fitting in? I see that he hasn't been putting up many points but did miss some games...
