Swedish players of all time. Doesn't need to be in a specific order, just throw them out there.

Forsberg
Sundin
Zetterberg
Alfredsson
Nilsson
Lidstrom
Lindbergh
Naslund
Salming

Without bothering to check stats ( Much Too Lazy ) I'm dead certain that Sundin has a significantly higher ppg ,in International games, for Tre Kronor, especially on BIG ICE. Everytime I've seen them on the same Swedish team, Sundin has been EASILY the better player. Yet, Foppa seems far more popular in Sweden. Is that due to 1994 OG/ ' the stamp' / his World Jr heroics ...yadda yadda?

Yeah, Sundin would usually outshine Forsberg on the national team. Aside from 1998 World Championships, Forsberg has often performed sub-par on the national team IMO, while Sundin always was THE leader.

Pretty much. That is also why Sundin and Forsberg has about equal "star status" here in Sweden even though Forsberg (in his prime) were a better player.

Since most hockey fans in Sweden only follows the SEL and the national team, and non-sport people only follows the national team, the only way to get "big" here is to perform well in the yellow/blue jersey.

That is also the reason why Lidstrom was like, Lidstrom who? before the Olympic gold in 2006. After the Gold he has slowly gained the same respect as Sundin and Forsberg.

Yes, and that's why Kenny Jönsson was considered the best defenseman in the world by a lot of Swedes (since he was named best defenseman in the Olympics 2006).
