He is blowing smoke.... How does the model minor league hockey franchise lose so much money in the past when the club led in attendance most seasons? Any good businessman would have charged enough for seats to turn a profit with half the attendance they drew.

Since AHL clubs have twice the expenses as a CHL franchise, how does he expect to turn a profit with an AHL club over a CHL club?

I can understand he wishes to move up to AHL hockey. But I don't buy it when he says he is losing money with the Blazers.....

For years they gave away Free tickets with the option to upgrade for half price. Yes it padded the attendance records. There is even a legal battle that has been ongoing for a couple of years now. Between Horn Chen(previous owner) and Bob Funk, Sr. (current owner) on the actual value of the franchise. Funk, Sr. has stated before that he had to put in 5 million into the team, also the franchise's financial records are up for debate too. Chen says he is still owed 2 million dollars from Funk. And then the NBA showed up here after Katrina. And it took away from alot of good weekend dates for the team.
