I agree with you, or you can be a local hero like fernado valenzuela ,and get you number unofficially retired.

Hickey has been wearing #37 at camp. I figure he keeps that number.

Interesting. Thinking about it, I do recall hearing on one of the boards years ago while Blake was still in Colorado that Leiweke told Blake they would retire his number some day. Maybe TL is butting in again.

Give Scuderi #4. Blake doesn't deserve it. He's revered as a villain now.

I repeat: The Kings retire Blake's number and this hockey fan is no longer a Kings' fan. What are we without our principles.

Actually Jimmy Fox was the last to wear it (he had given up 19 for Larry Robinson) and Doug Crossman wore it before that...

I don't think we have to worry too much about that with Dean around. If he's not going to retire Goring's or Vachon's number than Blake has about as much of a chance as a snowflakes chance in hell.

I think retiring a players number has to be about the person's character as much as it is about their talent and accomplishments. Blake is seriously lacking in that crucial category. I think there should be an official poll from the Kings organization before they consider retiring Rob's jersey....it would reveal quite a bit about what the fans want.

I forgot what the poll was called that the LA King website had a while ago, and am having trouble finding the results, but didn't Kopitar beat out Robitaille for best all-time King or something like that? I have a feeling if they have a general consensus poll on Blake's number it would be close or his number being retired would win. Most fans don't pay attention to what is going on behind the curtain.

This sounds like the beginning of a mass email barrage to the Kings management offices.
