Hudler to sign with Dynamo Moscow (KHL will honor arbitration result if Wings win)

Pretty much all czech hockey resources have this news. Some of them (the most reliable)

http://hokej.sport.cz/hokej/kontinen...-do-ruska.html

http://hokej.idnes.cz/hudler-konci-v...630_evropa_cig

http://nhl.cz/ - top right corner

http://hokej.cz/ - top right corner

Do not have time for transaltion but basicaly it says that according to unofficial information is Hudler going to sign contract with Dynamo Moscow today. His press conference is today in the afternoon (European time ... -6 hours here compared to eastern time)

Just trying to leverage his talks with Detroit. I can't see him leaving the Wings for Russia, I'd be surprised, especially for a guy in his prime.

If all he wants is money then Russia is a good way to make that happen. However, i'd imagine quite a few teams would be interested in him and would offer more money than Detroit (albeit less than he'd get in Russia).

is it possible that he's signing for one year? DET would still hold his rights and should have a lot of money coming off the books.

Don't want him for more than two mil. His size is a major factor and cannot progress past the third line.

Low balled? He's not worth Franzen money! Let him go there are some other 2m forwards available.

LOL. Only after money... I guess that's why he went to the NHL in the first place. Love the irony in those arguments.

Jiri Hudler to Dynamo Moscow (MOD: will cont. negotiations w/DET)

Signs a two-years deal
http://www.hokej.cz/index.php?lng=CZ...lanek&id=44095

MOD EDIT: Added below as this is developing story and there's no guarantee Hudler is leaving yet.

http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2009...jiri_hudl.html
Quote:
Update 10:08 AM: Per Hokej.cz: Hudler's Czech agent, Pavel Marsoun, says that the deal would last for two years, but he also confirms that negotiations will continue with the Red Wings, but his agent also yapped up the concept that Hudler could spend the next two years in Moscow with a strong Dynamo team and then return to the NHL.
2nd EDIT: http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index...._contract.html

Quote:
Reports out of the Czech Republic indicate Hudler has signed a two-year deal with Dynamo. There is some uncertainty, however, if this is his just his Plan B if he is not satisfied with whatever deal he gets from the Wings.

"It's a real possibility he's going to take this (Russian) offer,'' Holland said. "He'd be taking a lot less money to stay in the NHL.''

What's confusing is that Hudler filed for arbitration on Sunday, indicating a strong desire to get a deal done with Detroit.

Holland said he not yet heard back from Hudler's North American agent, Petr Svoboda, but that if reports that Hudler had signed the Russian deal are true he would "go on the assumption that he's gone.'

Wow, I was not expecting him to sign overseas at all. Sucks for Detroit fans, but I don't see this hurting the Wings too much; they always seem to pull through.

I had to chcek my calendar to see whether the date today is April 1st.

Surprisng decision to say the least.

Though I donīt trust Russian media that much, theyīve already claimed today that Podhradsky has signed with Barys, which he hasnīt yet.

EDIT: Ok, if hokej.cz says it than itīs probably true.

Damn.. Pretty random. It sucks for any team when they lose a young player like this one. I'm sure Detroit will be fine regardless tho; they have np attracting free agents as well.

I suspect this is probably just going to be used as a bargaining tool.

Whoa. Now that's a big one. Tough loss after Hossa also departs. For ages it had seemed that the Red Wings would have to choose between the two players.
