I do my part but the economic situation in Buffalo makes in hard for a lot of people to come up with that much money upfront.

Heck, even I do, cause every year I hope to God that the last place team gets screwed and ends up like 5 places up in the draft...

God I hope the Bluejackets win this year, and then if there is a lockout...the Jackets have:

Rick Nash
Nik Zherdev
Alexander Ovechkin
and
Sidney Crosby

heck of an offensive force brewing in Columbus...now about that defence...

Both teams each have 1 rather easy game and 2 tough games ahead of them.

Buffalo: Rangers, Leafs, Habs.
New York: Hurricanes, Flyers, Habs.

I pity your ignorance...why don't you inquire about getting together with Leafaholix?

But Buffalo has less trouble with the Leafs than New York has with the Flyers and the habs. Plus they lost to the Hurricanes last week... could it happen again???

We own the Leafs at home.
The Habs spot will be clinched by then (1 pt away)

Hurricanes (Lavy factor) are 2-1 vs NYI
Flyers may be clinched by then.

Like I said it's doubtful, but who knows.

I highly doubt they'll give the 2005 #1 to the lottery winner in 2004.

Look how many sellouts Buffalo has. And look at the average attendence.

It's pretty amazing considering we only have 6,500 season ticket holders. There is not much money going around Buffalo, people want to put food on the table before they go watch a hockey game.

But like someone said, no matter what happens in the next 3 games, i'm proud of the Sabres. They've played hard. They've shown they care. They play like they want it. They might come up short, but i'm proud of them of just not laying down and dieing. And with Tom Golisano as owner, i am happily say that next season we will make the playoffs. Hockey will be back in Buffalo. Golisano is a savior.

The team finally showed some gumption, especially in the 2nd half. 83 points now, 72 all of last year.....certainly some tangible improvement.

I hope not, but that's what I was hearing...I hope you're righ, cause I keep saying that is absolutely wrong. The correct thing is just a complete lottery, for all picks, everyone at the same odds.

I'm proud of the Sabres as well. They sure have made things fun.. and nobody expected anything from them. I am optimistic but I know there is that great chance that they won't make it.. and although it sucks and that will hurt when the season ends.. that sort of thing happens and you got to suck it up. I would be overjoyed and thrilled if we made it though.. that's for sure. But, the fact of the matter is that some teams make it and others don't. Buffalo made strides and I won't forget those if they end up falling short. Go Sabres!

As an Isles' fan, I won't be worried until after the results on wednesday. I think the Isles and Montreal are a toss up, but I fully expect Buffalo to pummel the Blueskirts. If the Isles win, I say they're in. However, if they lose, it will become a huge weekend for both teams.

I think the Isles can (hopefully) beat Carolina on Friday, and I think Toronto may give Buffalo a hard time. Buffalo then plays the next night against Montreal, and if Buf wins, that may, or may not, set up an extremely important game for the Isles against Philly on Sunday.

But, it's too early to tell. Who knows if Montreal, Philly, or Toronto plan to rest up some of their players in these final games. That may change the outcome a heckuvalot. Buffalo is at full speed right now, and the Isles aren't. This could very well be an interesting finish.

That would defeat the point of holding a lottery then, wouldn't it?

Considering there were 6 teams and you benefited from territorial rights it's a good thing you do. That last part was just low.

At least we can watch our last SCF appearance in color. Don't forget about the 70$ million a year they spend to buy one...a payroll that big definetly should help your chances...obviously not, if you don't spend it in the right way.

Ah you guys came in the league in 1970, 2 years after our last cup. I really would not toss out a 1967 bomb when you have not one either since.

Finals appearance granted...but you LOST :-)

Then again I actually like the Sabres and dislike the Islanders so no clue why i'm doggin ya

As long as you don't have your goalie as the 6th man on the powerplay. We will be ok. Hell we have had more goals against us by your guys goalies than by Hossa this year
