Went with Parsons. Out of curiosity, just how far do people think Hunter Smith has fallen as a result of his AHL rookie year?

I never thought much of him to begin with.

I went with Ollas Mattson.

Pretty sure I said it at the time of the pick, but he only got drafted so high because of the obsession with size. No part of his skill set ever pointed to being a top-9 forward. Wouldn't even have him top 20 personally.

Parsons

Smith shouldn't be top 20, IMO, never has been for me, really.

Yeah I was never a huge Smith fan, to be honest.

Went with Pribyl because why not, but we're already in honourable mention territory IMO.

Parsons, then Prybil for me.

Getting more and more slim pickings for sure.

Hated the Hunter Smith pick from the moment it happened.

Went for Fox all the way. You are either on the Fox train, or you are off of it.

Umm no. He's a 5'9 d-man that isn't a great skater yet. He's got potential but also significant flaws and hurtles he will have to over come to play in the NHL.

Love the pick but it's a third rounder in a pretty weak draft.

Poor Pribyl and Tulo I'll go Parsons. His composer and positioning is amazing for an 18 year old.

Here's a quote about Fox by people that have seen him.

Quote:
The Draft Analyst

A terrific playmaker from the back end with first-class vision and elite puck distributing abilities, Fox was Team USA’s most consistent defender. He is yet another Nassau County native to grace the NTDP’s blue line, using flair, creativity and astonishing puck control to wow onlookers and dizzy opponents all at the same time. He was beyond deserving of his nomination as top defenseman at the U18 worlds, which shows how far this kid has come since the start of the season when he was considered (and assessed) as merely a power play specialist. Nothing could be further from the truth, as Fox usurped fellow NTDP rearguard Chad Krys as Team USA’s best overall defenseman and most reliable at generating offense.

Maybe, but that doesn't change that Hunter Smith isn't a great prospect.

He's got the mechanics to be an above average skater. He's nearly pro ready and is a surprisingly underrated defensive player.

I had him ranked as an early 2nd rounder with top 15 dynamic offensive talent in my guide. The kid is truly special offensively.

Fox is an exciting young talent to be sure. He has some serious question marks in his game though. I think it's fair to give him a little one time before ranking him highly.

His comparable is Ryan Ellis, this kid was a first round talent similar to Andersson. If his skating was slightly better and he was over 6'0, he probably would have been a top 15 pick. These are the type of players you use your 2nd and 3rd round picks on. I love this pick.

Of course Parsons is a great choice here as well, but I'm taking Fox.

As I mentioned in the last poll, at this time it's an absolute crapshoot. Most of the guys left on our list are either super raw or depth players. It's more or less who you like versus being able to point at development or yearly progress heh.

Parsons, Fox, Pribyl or Eetu are probably the last few guys on the list with either high upside raw potential or safer NHL upside (Pribs).

Am I crazy or did Eetu have more votes overall heading into the last Run Off?
