In 2005-06 he led all Minnesota defensemen in points with 28 and goals with 10 as a rookie. That season he ranked eighth in the NHL in points among rookie defensemen and was tied for second in goals.

He suffered one of the worst injuries I've ever seen.

Another defenseman, maybe mutiple D being moved.

Cannon of a shot, hopefully he recovers completely from that injury. Definitely will be nice to see him back on the ice.

If he's 100% healthy and all, he could be a very good 2 way defenseman. The question now is which 2 guys are we getting rid of??

I actually like this signing. This makes me believe that LK2 is gone. We've got a big body who basically does the same things as him, and probably a lot better.

I'll be honest. I'm starting to love this now.

Goodbye, Lukas.

I mean if this happens then I like this...but did they not sign LK and then release a press release saying how good they think he is? Does that happen often for players that are gonna be traded?

Nice, another big boy on the blue line. Added bonus points for being the only right handed shot back there. Seems like he had a chance to shake most of the cobwebs out at the end of the year after missing a year with the broken leg.

Certainly adds more intrigue to any upcoming trade(s) of some of our defensive surplus. Also makes me wonder if they aren't expecting to have Hedman start the season in Norfolk, letting them be pleasantly surprised if/when he exceeds that expectation. Regardless, guys are going to have to battle to earn/keep their jobs and I look forward to how it all plays out.

I guess Hedman has to take 77 to clean up the mess Gratton made.

I thought for sure they were going to retire Gratton's jersey and number.

Oh god.

Ahh, the size era. If you were over 6'2 and scored 25 goals in junior, you were the greatest thing in hockey.

Supposedly, he has fully recovered. I just like the offense he seems to have, and the size. Even if they were equal in skill, i'd give LK the boot. A guy that big (especially a righty) who can drop bombs from the blueline and move the puck?

Yes please. Yes all damn day.

Agree with Bobsled, have no trouble letting Krajicek go if Foster is everything advertised.

Does Lashoff have to pass through waivers?

If we give away Lashoff, I'll blow my effing top. He has the potential to be an excellent #2 d-man for a long time.
