He would have to pass through waivers, and all this leads me to believe they're putting together a bigger package than we think. More than just a back up, but maybe some forward prospects, too.

Well that would make sense, bc we badly need wingers in our minor league system. But with Vrbata coming back, I'm concerned we might be looking to save money. I could see us giving up Mez in a package deal.

I for some reason think Ranger is the guy that ends up traded, I think he was an old regime guy that hasn't been special under the new regime.

Thats what im thinking. These guys signed Mez, Toc loves Smaby, just signed Ohlund, Foster, Walker and Kraijcek. I don't really see it any other way at the moment...

I mentioned that a few days ago but wonder if he has real value because of his injury issues.

one way deal, i would have to assume?

i think a move that would make sense might be vrbata plus actual young defenders of value to offset the salary dump, in exchange for a winger with some scoring presence

I like how last year we were bashed for not signing defensemen yet now we get bashed for signing too many. The idiots on the main board have become especially stupid.

I like how we've signed 14.

Because Ohlund counts for 8 and Walker counts for 2. Kraj and Foster count for 2 each, also.

14! Ta-da!

Jeez, quit signing our players

Best of luck to Foster. I've never been a big fan of him as a player to be honest, but he's just a great great person by all accounts, and we were all pulling for him here in Minny to come back from that injury. And come back he did, and played very admirably down the stretch last season.

There's nothing bad with this signing. 600k for a guy with some potential if he's recovered from that freak injury. I'd rather have too much depth and lose someone like Krajicek or Lundin to waivers than have to go through last year's mess again. Something has to give trade wise now though. I doubt they go in to training camp with all these guys. They can either try a package deal to get a top 6 forward or get some more picks/prospects.

It's funny. Nice post in that thread in response to the "factual" questions.

Sometimes I have these moments of clarity where I make sense. Sadly they last about 4 minutes and happen on message boards.

The rest of it is just jibberish.

Meszaros - Ranger
Ohlund - Hedman
Krajicek - Foster
Walker

With Lashoff, Lundin, Mihalik, Wishart and Quick in the minors. I love it!!

... just to add a little history on Kurtis from a Wild fan ... As you may know, Foster has an absolute cannon for a shot. Whenever a player (on other team or his team)
has the misfortune to get hit with one of his shots we usually said, he got "Fostered". I've more than a few times where an unfortunate player needed to leave the game after being "Fostered".

Lashoff has to clear waivers if he's sent down, there's no way he clears. You're also forgetting Smaby in your lineup.
