Matt Carle is now available for a mid round draft pick/prospect/peanuts.

Drew Miller for a Jason Smith? Sign me up.

I'd like Witt more, but I don't think the ducks will be looking at people with 2 years.

I'd do that trade for the Avs. Not Foote though, because he won't waive his NTC, nor will the team ask him to, but for Salei sure.

Brent Sopel for a 5th

Sopel is a veteran capable of playing 4/5 role and has experience playing with Wisniewski from time here in Chicago

Assuming they don't sign any of the remaining UFAs, they really need a #2-3 guy more than a #4-5 guy.

Van Ryn isn't quite a #2-3 guy, but he's a solid #3 when healthy and would problably be available for a prospect.

and you would think Burke will deal with Aneheim fo sho. He did say he got a serious trade offer for some of his excess Dmen and not TK

I want Stevie to finish his career out in Toronto (from Hamilton, so like a hometown), but we have so many defenceman..

His parents also used to live on my court, and during the summer I always saw him there, and he even played street hockey with us

Some pieces we could offer are: Jonas Hiller, Erik Christenson, Peteri Nokelainen, Brendan Mikkelson, Brian Salcido and Matt Beleskey, along with draft picks. I'll start with an offer, post yours!

To Colorado:
Erik Christenson ($750k cap hit)
Brendan Mikkelson ($822k cap hit)
Matt Beleskey ($667k cap hit)

The Avs get a young cheap winger with scoring potential, a two-way D-man prospect who may be ready and a young physical winger with top 6 potential. They also shed about $750k.

To Anaheim
Adam Foote or Ruslan Salei ($3mil/$3.025mil cap hit)

The Ducks get either of the two physical vets who have 1 and 2 years remaining on their deals respectively. They can act as stop-gaps for the young stable of d-men Anaheim has in the wings.
The Sharks (fans) will be happy to let you have Kent Huskins back if you return the 4th in 2011 (2012) we owe you for re-signing him. How's that for a deal? You get a signed player back and it doesn't even cost you one of your picks??

That's the logical thinking I'd expect from a guy with the great Sheldon in his avatar... Actually, from a Ducks point of view, I do think it wouldn't be a bad idea, at all.

Who would Anaheim fans want between Finger, Van Ryn and Frogren?(don't say none lol)..I know none of the 3 are super appealing, but they likely won't cost you much value-wise, maybe a 3rd or a prospect..

Finger has a fairly big contract
Van Ryn is injury-prone
Frogren is younger and has a small contract

Finger and his contract is a no-go for sure. I would be a little scared about van Ryn who would be a good fit but seemed to be addicted to the IR last year. Frogren isn't bad, but I have the feeling the Ducks will be looking for a more NHL-experienced defender. Van Ryn would probably make the most sense out of this group, but I doubt Murray would give up a 3rd rounder due to his injury-issues...

I know his name has come up a few times but Mike Van Ryn could be a perfect fit. He was great for us when healthy. It's a bit of a risk reward type of thing but if he stays healthy he'll be perfect for you guys and the price to get him would be minimal. His cap hit this year is 2.9 and he's a ufa at seasons end so you wouldn't have to worry about him in the off season if he doesn't stay healthy. I would have interest in Salcido or Mikkelson as we lack d depth in the AHL. I apologize if they are highly touted as I don't know who you guys value the most in your prospect chart.
