Adam's goal is between 1:30-1:40. Legault is all over the footage. The hit on Lagace is about 4:30 in. He does a bit of an AlKo move on the SO goal -- forehand-backhand.
Lagacé scored his 35 of the season (and 73rd point) and Luke Adam picked up an assist in Cape Breton's final game of the regular season. Adam wound up with 49 goals on the year (and 90 points). He pumped a team high 6 shots on Titan's goaltender François Lacerte

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but what's the deal with Adam's huge jump in point production? Is he playing for a better team with better linemates, or just development?

How about some love for Brad Eidsness?
Shutout win thursday over Minnesota-Duluth then Friday night beats top ranked Denver 4-3!
At just 20 years old, he seems to be a couple years younger than the starting goalies of other top NCAA teams.

Eidsness is one of my favorite prospects. He stepped in as a freshman and really turned ND's season around last year (and entrenched himself as the starter), and he continues to get better for one of the top programs in the country. And best of all, he's not in any real time-share--he's getting the vast majority of starts down there and for very good reason.
If he stays all 4 years, he might very well be among the candidates for the Hobey Baker by then.
Eidsness has been an iron man as well. Played six games in the last nine days. Last night his team was gassed in the third and hanging on for dear life. Here's what he said about the third period:
“I looked up at the clock somewhere around the eight- or nine-minute mark,” Eidsness said, “then took a look at our bench and I had a feeling that I probably shouldn’t let in another goal. They weren’t going to be too happy with me if we had to go to overtime."
I just realized that by the way things are going, Adam and Lagace could possibly be in Portland next weekend (doubt it would happen that fast though)... I guess Cape Breton plays Moncton next on the 23rd and 24th.

No, it really could be that quick. They've had a hard time with Moncton all season.
Given the perpetually injured forward corps, I'd think they'd try to work in Adam right away. If Cape Breton is swept, is it a real possibility that Adam could be in Portland's lineup next weekend? Or, alternatively, do people think that Dineen would want to give him and/or Lagace more practice time with the team before thrusting them into a playoff race?
It is great to see Kassian with 5 goals in 7 games as a Spit.
Foligno has three points in three playoff games against the Barrie machine. Crawford has 6 assists as a key cog in that machine.
McNabb has three assists and a fight in two Ice wins.
I'm liking how most of their CHL guys are rising to the playoff challenge.

You know, I'm pretty high on Eidsness too. And, in reality though he's just a sophomore in eligibility, he did play an extra year in Okotoks and will be 21 this season.
Depending on what they want to do with Enroth next year, I think signing Eidsness this offseason is a legitimate possibility. If Jhonas is in Buffalo, Eidsness could potentially start or share the starting job in Portland and if Jhonas spends another year in the AHL, Eidsness might be an upgrade over Lamoureux for backup (and then replace Enroth in '11-'12).

I would assume the Sabres will let him keep playing in college where they don't have to pay him. There's no rush, the Sabres won't be needing a goalie anytime soon.

I'd like to see Eidsness kept in college for another season--no need to rush him. In my ideal world, they bring up Enroth to back up Miller, and sign Ben Scrivens to tandem with Lamoureux in Portland.

I guess my counter-point would be, if he has nothing left to prove at NoDak, why keep him there? I'm not saying he's a must-sign but it seems like he has a pretty good handle on the college game and he's the same age now as Enroth was last year, as an AHL rookie.
They'll need to bring at least one goalie into the organization this year anyway (assuming Lalime is gone), I'd frankly prefer Eidsness over another NCAA-UFA option.
And it's a small factor, but they can get him on a 3 year ELC this year but it would be down to 2 if he plays his junior year. I think stashing him in Portland for 3 seasons is his best option, IMO.

SP: You went down with an unfortunate injury after taking a hit. Can you describe what happened?
LA: I was playing with mononucleosis for 4 weeks before the injury. I was unaware that I had it. I felt tired and had most symptoms now that I look back on it but I thought it was just flu from a tough schedule. The team trainer and doctors didn’t suggest I get checked when I told them how I was feeling so I was just trying to play through it.
Your spleen is enlarged when you have mono and that is the danger of playing contact sports with it. It wasn’t a big hit, it was more of an open ice bump and it felt like I lost my wind. I then thought it was maybe broken ribs, I was also having trouble breathing. The doctors suggested I got to the hospital and an hour later I was on the operating table.
I spent one week in hospital and now I am home in Newfoundland recovering. The doctor says I can’t do any activity for 2-3 months. After that I will be fine to continue living the lifestyle I am used to.

I agree. If he's ready for the pro game, sign him.

He may also be a lot harder to sign if he stays in college another year. At that point it's only another year to graduation and becoming an UFA in Aug 2012 will look more attractive. Why sign with the Sabres and be stuck behind Miller when he can have his pick of teams if he graduates?
Well, no Adam, Legault or Lagace this weekend. Adam had a hatty, Lagace had 2 helpers and Cape Breton avoided elimination by beating Moncton 4-1 tonight. Moncton still leads the series 3-1, though. Game 5 is on Saturday.
