I was out there this morning. I don't know how good a player he'll be, but Teubert is a mean SOB. Hickey looks NHL ready to me, I was surprised how physical he was. Schenn wasn't too noticable most of the time. Others who impressed me were Kozun, Roe, Wudrick and Vey.

Roe looked good out there today. Both in practice & during the games. I really liked how well he played his position without the puck.

It should be nearly impossible for Busch to be there. I saw him about 20 hours ago (Friday evening) on a soccer-field in Berlin (GER).

To everyone who's able to attend the camp: Any thoughts about the two Germans?

Clifford was unspectacular for the 2nd day in row. i see #64, and it never sticks in my head who he is...which i've figured out is a bad thing at a thing like this. I think Geoff Walker has looked better at the power forward position than clifford. Clifford has got some good linemates, but almost looks out of place skating w/ Schenn and Kozun who have both looked good.

Let's talk about Deslauriers, he could be pretty amazing if he keeps up what he's doing. Kid is pretty slick and sick with the puck.

I have to disagree a bit. Clifford wasn't spectacular. But a few times I saw him get buried against the boards - and fight his way through the check while retaining possession of the puck. Which is more than I can say about most of the kids who were out there.

Which is the opposite of what I saw. I saw Walker getting pushed around by smaller defensemen - when I noticed him at all.

Not that I'm an expert or anything - and it was only 1 day. But that's what I saw.

I thought Hickey, Teubert and Azevedo looked really good at Saturday's game. Hickey had a couple monster hits....I hope he gets a good, long look at camp.

One more thing. Is Hickey really 5-10? He played more like 6 feet on saturday and he looked that big as well.

Not really outstanding.
Not bad, not good kind of invisible. You could replace em by regular juniors and no one would notice that.

Dont see any chance to make at least the team camp

Well, I was only able to catch Sundays Group B practice..

Bernier is a stud.

It seems to me that Teubert will be in the NHL as soon as he gets his foot speed up a bit. That dude is a beast out there though..

Didn't see Hickey unfortunately..

How did the game go? Anybody see?

nosoupforyou's day 3 report at LGK:

"good crowd, not as many as saturday.

I had a chance to shoot the whole game. if you can handle my shaking hands, bad camera work and youtube uploads, I'll add it to this thread as they get processed. Mark (Muddy) was sitting in front of me, so there may be a couple of pieces of color commentary from him.

Goalies played very well today, with Berube making some really big saves. The first game was Zatkoff vs Bernier, and the final score was 1-1. The second game, Jones vs Berube, finished 0-0.

Very physical out there, a lot of guys were taking the body. The two regular period goals were scored by Tyler Maxwell on a VERY nice tip past Bernier, and Robbie Czarnik who whipped a wrister into the upper corner past a partially (or possibly fully) screened Zatkoff.

Hickey again played very solidly on both sides of the ice, Czarnik is one of my favorite players this camp with his hustle, Azevedo had his on-ice vision going again. Even as a little stocky guy, he's pretty hard to hit directly, which I think is the only way he'll be able to survive to get to the NHL. I hope he gets a call up at some point this season to see what he can do.

Holloway played pretty well again, especially positionally. All the D guys were, for the most part, pretty solid.

Hard to really get a good feel for the game looking through an LCD screen, so I'll let the video speak.

There was a shootout at the end (it was planned regardless of the outcome) and Jones didn't look too good during it."

Remember, that the skates add an extra 3 inches....(goes for everyone, but it can make a smallish guy look a little bigger).

Also, why no interviews with Schenn? You would think they would have talked to him for a bit. Maybe they were just giving him a break because he probably had a ton leading up to the draft.

Schenn looked lost at many times out there during the scrimmage.

When did the new/old rules come up , I must not have posted for a while?

Jones looked good in the game almost zero rebounds, but looked like labs in the shootout
Hickey is real close and should start pissing off those that said picking him was a mistake, I know good pick but not at four lol
Schenn looked tired like a half step behind
51 I think it was Kozon looks like he has promise
Acevedo looked good also and I hope he gets a shot this year

One last thing is we have some pretty big boys in Clifford.Tuebert,King,Campbell and a few others that with our new compete work ethic should open the ice up in the next few years............This is going to sound somewhat silly but we need to get some kind of hat ,shirt something so we can tell who post on this site so we can share beers and stories at the up coming practices and stuff........would liked to have met tony or gann

It's because he's a flipping bust. DL and AEG blew it again. I can't believe that idoit DL didn't draft Tavares.

He should have reached for Kadri! Burke steals the show again.

What you see on the ice in a summertime camp for young prospects...in a matter of a few days...means very, very little. Calling Schenn a bust based on that is as ridiculous as saying that water isn't wet.

As for the Kings drafting Tavares, how was Lombardi supposed to do that if he wasn't available? And even if he did, he would've had to give up several of his best young players/prospects to do it, creating more holes just to fill one.

Is that really stupid?
