Question to all you Toronto people. I am off to Toronto in a couple days on a road trip, and I was wondering how crazy the fans were there?

I have all intentions of wearing my NYR Leetch jersey around, and I don't want to have things thrown at me, like I did during the national anthem of an Islanders vs Ottawa game when I wore my Ranger jersey to Nassau Coliseum. On the back of my jersey over the number 2 is a piece of cloth that says "GO LEAFS GO" so I was thinking perhaps that I would catch a break.

Basically, are you guys New Yorkers, or are you guys ethical?

Oh, and what's nice to visit there? I've never been.

Canadians are a very civilized bunch at least when sober and I hear that Brian Leetch has become quite popular in this area so I wouldn't be concerned

A Leetch jersey is just as good as a Leaf jersey. You will be fine.

Even if you wore a Sens jersey the worst that would happen is that you would get heckled.

Which reminds me of something, my cousin wore a Wings jersey during the '98 playoffs (he lives near Niagara Falls) and he was surrounded by people and picked on everyday. Don't think it matters about the team too much, but it's probably just because it isn't their home team...

I would remind you of two years ago when the leafs went to the Island for our first round. Every single game in the isle (NY) the Canadian Anthem was booed which started a "semi-controversy" around the Hockey world. BUT when the Islanders came here to Toronto the U.S anthem was cheered very loudly. Indeed much louder than it would be cheered other wise. That only shows how feel about this game.

My point is we here are more civilized than other places in the NHL ranks. We don't play that game. We truely welcome all fans to our arenas. Even the ones that are cheering for other teams such as the Canadiens or the Senators (even without bringing a can food which is what ottawa is doing now).

If you didn't understand that, well Ottawa passed a law that no one is allowed to wear a Leafs Jersey in their building without bringing a can of non-perishable food. ?? I stil can't believe that law passed their municipal government. [sigh] anyways.

You wil never meet a more civilized bunch than Toronto's fans regardless of what others say about us.

But Specially with a Leech Jersey You will be welcomed with open arms.

Make sure you go to the Hockey Hall of Fame! I'm pretty sure there is some Leetch stuff in the Olympic section.........can't remember if it was just his jersey or his helmet........

Don't feel too bad.

I've been to two games this year.

7-1 loss against Philly and the 7-1 loss to Ottawa.

If you're in town at the start of the playoffs, prepare yourself to feel the electric buzz around the city. This year will be great as that buzz will be in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver, Calgary, and hopefully Edmonton. A buddy of mine from Boston was up here two years ago in the spring, and was blown away at how hockey-obsessed and Leaf-obsessed this town is, especially during playoff time. We went to the mall one time, and he took a pnoramic shot of the parking lot to show his friends back in Beantown how many cars had Leaf car-flags. It literally seemed like every second car had one.

Anyway, hopefully you enjoy your trip. The Hall of Fame is a must-visit.....even stroll by Maple Leaf Gardens to take it in. Maybe catch a Jays game at the Skydome. You'll find lots to do....have fun!

......and wear that Leetch jersey proudly! He's family now!

If you're looking for other things to do (besides sports ), may I suggest:

1. Walk up and down Yonge Street.
2. Visit Eaton Centre.
3. Visit Casa Loma (did I spell it right native Torontonians?) - a castle build in the 1800's right in the city of Toronto.
4. Take one of those guided bus tours (I can't remember the name, but it starts right downtown in front of the CN Tower) that takes you around Toronto and stops at about 30 places (including the ones I've listed above). You can get off/on at any of the stops as they have buses running about every 1/2 hour. I did this in both Toronto and Vancouver and it helps you decide what you do/don't want to see.
5. Ontario Science Center - a little ways out of downtown, so you'll need a vehicle to drive to it

I'm just worried of wearing my Leafs jersey when I go to Philly, but hell, they gotta have *some* respect for Roberts

I'll leave my Tucker at home
