Plekanec to KHL?

I don't know if it has been reported somewhere on the boards, but according to CKAC, a KHL team has shown significant interest in Montreal Canadiens' RFA centerman Tomas Plekanec.

Apparently it's Omsk, they are trying to find a center to play with Jagr (and the other names thrown out were Lang and Nylander).

http://ruefrontenac.com/sports/7974/7974

Quote:

(For translation, what I've written pretty much sums it up)

EDIT : Added link.

Does Plekanec have interest in KHL, that's should be the main concern.

Maybe they should sign LW Tanguay and put Cammy on 2nd line centre, that will please the mass.

If this actually happens it just makes Gainey more of an idiot then he already is for not giving Koivu a contract!

I don't think Pleks has any interest in playing in KHL.

You cannot use the "News report" prefix if you do not give a link to a respected source. At least tell us who was on CKAC telling this (the morning crew ? Lajoie ? Villeneuve ?). CKAC is desperate right now to raise their ratings and will air anything with 0 concern for reliability.

Please remove the "News report" prefix - it's misleading (and almost gave me a heart burn )

I love that a report comes out that the KHL is interested in Plekanec, with no indication of any interest from his side, and people jump on him already. Pathetic...

Don't worry, plecky won't go to the khl unless the offer him a crazy contract like 5 mil per season, which is not the case.

Here we go. We had no need for our captain, because we are set at center, no? Pleky will rebound from last year and will be good again, no?

And what will we do now, if Pleks go to Russia? Trade some more prospects for an another center? Disgusting.

Jiri Hudler is also making almost $5 million a year now, tax free. If a team offers that much for Plekanec (and I believe Omsk is one of the few that could conceivably do so)...good night. I also remember Jagr being a fan of Plekanec from those Czech all-star teams he captains.

Anyway it's funny how people are already panicking about possibly losing Plekanec...when all anyone wanted to do two minutes ago was unload him for picks so we could get some cap space. Be careful what you wish for

Well, worse come to worse, if you lose Pleks, you can just put Cammy at centre and sign Tanguay to a one year contract to play wing.
