HFBoards TOP 100 ranking: Forwards #28

Now that the season and playoffs are over, I thought we'd do an "HFBoards ranking" for each position.

So basically, who (of the following) is the best forward in the NHL? ie. which forward would you want on your team for next year only? (independent of their respective salary)

Vote away.

Ranking so far

1. Ovechkin
2. Malkin
3. Crosby
4. Datsyuk
5. Kovalchuk
6. Iginla
7. Getzlaf
8. Zetterberg
9. Thornton
10. Lecavalier

11. Parise
12. E.Staal
13. M.Richards
14. Nash
15. Heatley
16. Hossa
17. Alfredsson
18. Savard
19. St.Louis
20. Gaborik

21. Spezza
22. Semin
23. Backstrom

Havlat and the Sedins should be the next to go, in some order.

Add Cammelleri or Whitney.

I'm surprised to see Ribeiro is so under-rated. In the list of players provided he has the best points per game ratio in the last two years combined, with 1.02 ptspg. I know that's only offensive numbers but still I think he should have more votes.

Elias: 78 points in 77 games, born April 1976
Doan: 73 points in 82 games, born October 1976

Clearly, the 6 month difference in age makes Doan a much better player.

You're surprised Henrik is getting more votes than Daniel?
While they both put up nearly identical numbers, Henrik has been in the top 5 in his 'statistic' (assists) in the league, while Daniel hasn't. So in relative competition, Henrik may have the slight edge.

Oooh..top 5 in his statistic- shoot i'm sold now. How many assists would Daniel have if Henrik had a shot as good as Daniel's?
EDIT: 118 goals isn''t "nearly identical" to 65 goals is it?. That's post lock-out Daniel and Henrik.

Erm... Why such little love for Stastny??? He's pretty darn great IMO. So he had a few injuries, big whoop.
