Hi guys,

Bob acquire some dudes that makes the team tougher, but how is our toughness (on paper) compared to Flyers, Leafs, Bruins, Rags.. etc?

Not the toughest, but not the softest either. I'm not too worried, we will be winning games on speed, talent, and hard work.

Teams like Toronto don't have the skill to compete and Boston is a good team, but they're soft as hell, in the sense that they fold under pressure.

It's not done yet. Boston may lose a piece of their team with a kessel signing, if not kessel himself. While this doesn't address the toughness issue by any means, it reassures me that while we aren't the toughest, we may have more skill than the other team. Having niether as an advantage would really suck.

Boston is a lot more a skill team than a grit/tougness team. They have 4-5 bangers, but also half their roster is pure skill guys like Savard Krejci Bergeron Kessel Wheeler Wideman etc.

Didn't mean it in that way.. but I think Boston is sometimes overlooked as a skilled team.. and instead is overrated a little when it comes to toughness and banging. Personally, I don't believe that Boston is really that tough of a team..

They encountered the one man army Scott Walker. And he whooped their rear end. It seems no matter how good/strong they are, the B's get their ***** handed to them by weaker teams come playoff time. CHOKERS???? Tey had no reason not to kill us (we all know why) and had no business losing to the 'Canes... Still the same old Bruins, born to lose even when they are the best.

Boston will fall back down to earth next season just like we did last season. They had so many players having crazy years at the same time and no real injuries to their top players last year.

Next year, the habs will only have to yell Scott MF Walker's comin!!!! They will all bow down to their knees and ask for mercy. Or maybe they could wear a Scott MF Walker mask?

It would be fun when we play the bruins next year to have someone sitting behind the B's bench that holds a Scott MF Walker poster on the glass...

We're not really tougher. We lost Komisarek who's tougher than any player we've picked up.

I think Moen kicks his ass Lucic style... Maybe Mara too...he is not a great fighter but Komi is an atrocious one so...

Mara + Gill + Spacek + Moen > Komisarek + Bouillon + Dandenault

Mara/Gill/Spacek will easily replace Komisarek

I added Moen because he is also very important to our ''toughness'' even if hes not a D..
Yes, we are now tougher.

Add Laraque and Stewart. Spacek isn't very touch I don't think.

I think we are tougher...
losing komi hurts, but Gill/Mara should make up for that loss.

Spacek is better defensively and plays with more toughness than schneider.

up front we should be much tougher. Moen, while almost invisible offensively, is much tougher and probably an upgrade in the PK/defensive role from higgins.

Gionta, while a midget, plays with more determination/grit than Kovalev (albeit with a lot less natural talent), and cammalleri is a tougher player than Tanguay (though that doesn't say all that much).

so overall we've added a lot of toughness, but given that we were one of the softest teams in the conference, we'll still probably have some trouble with the grittier/tougher teams.

at the people slagging the booins for the Walker stuff.

I hate the bruins as much as the next guy, but they kicked out collective ass all season long, both literally and figuratively...

as much fun as it was to watch them crumble against the canes, do we forget so quickly that it was after humiliating us... or that a year earlier they took us to 7 games when the seeds were reversed?

homerism at its best.

Haha It's still funny any way you cut it. Ya they were better, ya they kicked our butts, but Scott ****ing Walker still ended their dominance . It's especially funny after a season's worth of ribbing and talking trash from them.

I posted Scott MF Walker's name on the 3 threads on the b's board talking about our smurf signings... Gotta get them back to earth.

Edit: Now I know how it feels to be a troll! I even suggest each time a bruin troll comes in we post this almighty name.

ok ok ok...

it is fun to see you guys throw that name around... especially since Komi is no longer around for them to remind us about how badly Lucic owns him.

but here's hoping we regain some legit reasons to bust their chops come next season.
