- Has Playoff experience (prefer the SC ring the more the merrier)
- Good contract (under or about 2 mil cap hit, years dont matter)

The Flyers haven't re-signed Andrew Alberts yet. I am sure he'd be looking for something in the $1.2-1.5 million range.

unfortunately as he was just re-signed i don't think The Incredible Husk is going anywhere =/ however, besides perhaps the speed part, i think the OP just described Brad Lukowich - 1.567M cap hit for one more year.

the speculation is that SJ will move one of ehrhoff, murray, or vlasic, but they could also get under the cap dealing out lukowich, shelley, and cheechoo for picks and/or bottom-six forwards making ~700k or less.

just sign Philippe Boucher. He's good when he's not injured.

**oh I forgot the blackhawks are trying to shed salary.

Stephane Robidas fits the bill on the Stars, but the Hawks would have to pay through the nose to get him seeing as he has all of those traits you mentioned except the stanley cup ring, and he's also an excellent shot blocker, and one of the most physical players in the league.

Mike Mottau has a .762 cap hit and had the 6th highest +/- amongst all d-men last season

Yes but thats becouse he is devils
Mottau as i understand it is not exactly physical presence in the ice and he shoots left

Anyway Lukowich seems to be very close to the player im looking for here, unfortunately it seems that SJS and CHI are very very bad trading partners coz of the cap issue, and i dont believe theres gonna be 3-way deal that includes Lukowich either.
Oh and Lukowich is left too, but basicly thats not the highest requirement.

Basicly what im searching here is dman who can play with Cam Barker and adds some hitting/physicality in the game.

Smith has too expensive contract to get for pick and he is too invaluable to trade for one of our roster wingers.

Besides his career has been going downwards fast.

in a sick way, Smith is "valuable" to working out a Heatley deal (he and Schubert will probably be thrown in to even out cash vs. cap hit). if ottawa simply deals them for 7th rounders, what GM is going to be willing to offer MORE than cogliano/penner/smid for "special introductory rate" heatley? i wouldn't.

Mike Van Ryn/Jeff Finger kind of fit your search criteria...Finger is more Physical, Van Ryn is a Right Shot..MVR's Contract ends at Seasons end..Finger is on for another 2 years..

Likely aren't looking for much for either..

Desperate? No, just trying to find a home for our excess baggage..

We could trade you Ian White, hes more of a 4th/5th D-Man..

Good for Barker..

Odd. Joe DiPenta just signed on with Buffalo on a league minimum, 2-way deal and fits many of your criteria.

Beyond that, Boucher would be another excellent option -- when he's healthy, he is a solid 2-way rightie.
