wings had nobody to nominate. The only guy who comes close is Yzerman, but he won it last year.

Phoenix writers nominated Brian Boucher for the award as reported in the Arizona Republic this week.

Landon Wilson is our rep but I'm rooting for Barney to win it.

I hope Messier gets the Rangers nom, and I hope he wins it. The guy is in his 24th or 25th season or something like that, and might finally be hanging it up. Messier deseres this award.

Could someone please tell me about or provide a link for the Barney thing? I can't say I've ever heard of it, but everyone seems to be rooting for him, so I'm very interested. Thanks in advance!

I'm sure someone else can elaborate a little more, but Barney was once one of the Kings' top prospects, then a severe back injury caused him to miss several seasons and threatened his career. He's starting to get back on track and scored his first NHL goal with the Kings earlier this season.

Exactly why Barney should get the Masterton trophy. It isn't about some guy that decided to take a year off of hockey (Daigle), it is about a guy that works his ass off and is rewarded with ice time after a serious injury (Koivu).

I updated the list on page 1. It includes only the ones I understood are confirmed. Barney and Souray are in brackets because those players are quite sure to be nominated, but there is no official confirmation yet.

For all of you people bashing Heatley I think it's enough already! It's not like he went out and said "Hey Dan I'm going to hammer on this car and we're going to crash it up and you're going to die." As if none of your friends or even yourself have ever put their vehicle over the speed limit. People are at risk everyday with almost everything they do. This was an ACCIDENT!

Take into consideration that Heatley is a young individual who made the biggest mistake a HUMAN BEING can make. I cannot empasize human being enough. We are all only human after all, some of you seem to think otherwise. Heatley's life was as much at risk as Snyder's. The outcome was very unfortunate and Heatley has to live with it for the rest of his life. It's people like you that make this world a tough place to live in.

Snyder's parents have forgiven Heatley for taking away their son. Now some HF poster is being an absolute jack @ss over the situation and won't let it go. Grow up!

Tie Domi is one player I cannot stand. If it were him in Heatley's shoes, I would have given him all the credit in the world for overcoming such a huge set back in life.
