I'm sorry, but if they take Bourque over Stepan, it just shows that the US team is built on nothing more than politics. It would be an absolutely retarded decision.

How about now? It looks as though Bourque has solidified a spot on one of the scoring lines and Stepan has a good chance to take one of the bottom two center spots between D'Amigo and Kristo.

Firstly, I'd like to agree and say that Kreider had a good game last night, he was good going forward, not afraid to crash the net or go in close, he got sticked in the nose while he was sprawled in the crease.He was also more physical than I expected, though he did wind himself going for a big check, for which he suffered twice as he was hit hard by the same opponent ten minutes later.
Sure it would have been nice to see him score, but all in all he exceeded my expectations.
However, the game was so very poorly refereed last night and was rather embarrassing towards the end, I'm sure that neither coaching staff learned anything about their players, I'm not sure why you bother inviting a team 8,000 miles to have it officiated like that.
They included all of the scrimmage games as well, so I think that skews things a bit if you're just looking for stats against the Russian teams. But obviously he still had an excellent camp

I have a feeling Blais really likes Saponari and I could see him making the team.
Warsofsky is really underrated and I see him being the best defenseman after Fowler and Carlson, who I think are the only locks on D. Wideman, Donovan, and Gardiner all have a shot to make the team, but I like the group above right now. Leddy did well at the camp, but that doesn't always translate to success at the tournament so we'll see how he does with Minnesota.
I think Lee-Campbell should be set as the goaltending duo. Not just due to the camp, they're head and shoulders above Knapp and Maxwell in every way. I've never been a fan of Maxwell.

Definitely will be interesting to see him at BC this year. I wanted the Isles to take him with their 2nd 1st rounder. I am a little scared though of these HS guys. When you're that big in HS it's almost impossible not to dominate if you have any modicum of skills. However his skating puts his way ahead of his years. He will be just fine.
What are your thoughts on Jerry D'Amigo and Kenny Ryan?

I had a few posts about them earlier in this thread, if you want to search back I go into detail. Yes, I think both will make the team and provide key role playing capability that they've seemed to lack over the years.
They forwards got mixed and matched after Morin got ejected for fighting in the second, though.
Right. The forward lines and defensive pairings were mixed all camp long. Guys like Morin, Bourque, Palmieri, Kristo, and a few other kids can play both wings.
Ultimately I grouped together kids that have good chemistry and have experience playing with each other in previous tournaments as well as putting together lines for certain roles. D'Amigo-Stepan-Kristo, for example, have all played with each other previously and were especially good together this camp. They're all also some of the best defensive players on the team and I have a feeling that will be their role, as the top checking unit. Morin-Schroeder-Bourque all have experience playing alongside each other as well.
Is USA Hockey finally changing some of their stubborn ways?!?!?
According to this article, there will be one more final tryout camp for the WJC team in December in Grand Forks, ND.

I would say Warsofsky for sure has to be one of those locks, but I agree with the names you listed as well.
