Of course, adding to the matter is USAH's inability to recruit or at least hold onto players hurts the bottom line again. Last year it was Tyler Myers (Texas) and this year it is none other than the WHL's leading scorer Brandon Kozun (California). Both have lived more than half their life in the US but have opted to honor the maple leaf. Taking Kozun off the Canadian roster and adding to the US roster at this point would definitely make things more interesting.

I am not sure how Kasper Guzik is working out for Honeybaked but perhaps USAH should pick up the acclaimed Patrick Koys (before Canada hawks him). Seems to be a real skill for Canada, nabbing top prospects.
Does Koys have family with Canadian or American citizenship? I believe that's the only way he could suit up for either country I believe

Luke Walker took a puck to the face last night and aparently had surgery today.

http://www.winterhawks.com/news/pres...article_id=405

No word yet but the speculation is that he won't miss any games and just wear a full shield.

My guess would be either Schroeder(seniority) or Carlson(experience).

I can't imagine it not being Schoeder.

If Hodgson was playing for Canada, it's very likely that the captains of both Canada and USA would have been Canucks prospects.

Confirmed. http://www.oursportscentral.com/serv...es/?id=3941127

Is Luke Walker still hurt?

Quote:
Forward Luke Walker is a candidate for the U.S. team at the same tournament. Walker, however, had surgery on Thursday after taking a puck to the face on Wednesday night in Everett, and hasn't played since. He was invited to join Team USA's camp this week in North Dakota, but is undecided because of his injury.

Ouch, sounds painful. Guy's a trooper, glad to see he's still going to the camp.

Based on the updated roster showing 17 forwards, it looks like Ryan is added with Walker injured but going, as noted.

This will probably be the weakest USA side in recent memory, HUGE underdogs.

Not really. Excellent goaltending, a nice blueline led by the likes of Carlson, Fowler, and Moore, and some quality forwards with built in familiarity. There's also the asset in Dean Blais as coach. The team lacks the "sexy" identity up front of recent teams, but I'm pretty sure the overall product will be better.

This team may not have high end skill like years past, however those teams couldn't get past their egos either.

This years team will be sprinkled with skill, grit and character players.

The games still have to be played before anyone is counted out.

Being honest with you, every team looks kinda average right now.
Canada's losses this year are worse. Loosing Kane, O'rielly and Hodgson really hurts
Sweeden of course missing Hedman and karrlson

Canada could actually have

Stamkos, Doughty, Schenn, Tavares, Duchene, Kane, Myers, and O'Reilly playing for them if they weren't in the NHL.

Could you imagine that team at the WJC? They would DESTROY teams.

Schenn and Doughty are too old but you can add Del Zotto.
