WHATTTTTT where are you hearing this.... from friends around the arena??? or serious sources???

If this is true we wont see a trade for awhile because Rychel is waiting on these guys but I wont believe this unless I heard it from Warren himself or from BB.

Word on the street last week or so. I've heard the MacDermid one for a while and Mitchell just recently which really surprised me. MacDermid has 0pts in 13gms with Providence so I'm not sure whats going on with his play there or if he isn't 100% healthy. Mitchell hasn't exactly been tearing it up with the Marlies as well.

I wouldn't put much stock into it this as nothing can be confirmed as it is all word of mouth. But I do think this is why there hasn't been a trade for a goaltender yet.

I read this on the NOOF after the game yesterday, never heard anything at the game myself though.

MacDermid in my opinion would be the more valuable of the two but reading his bio on the Providence website it looks pretty clear he is not likely to be back. They point out that last season was his final year in JR. Still possible but I will not hold my breath.

Mitchell, from what I heard last and admittedly not being a Leafs fan have not been following the Leafs and their organization closely, had finally scored a few goals. Anyone else have any more detailed news on how his season has gone?

What's next? Greenop making a return?

In all seriousness, I would and have hoped for the return of MacDermid all season long. Toughness with a decent set of hands.

With all the current additions and likely changes (Shugg to be moved, Baldwin release etc.) Windsor would have a starting lineup that would look something like this:

Hall - Henrique - Ryan (a good mix of skill and grit that has looked pretty good together lately)
Wellwood - Timmins - Nemisz (again skill with a bit of grit)
MacDermid - Panik - Watson (size, grit, speed and a scoring touch from three big forwards that like to bang)
Wallace - Whaley - Brassard (obviously a fourth line that would spend more time playing with the other three lines than with each other)

Nice to think of what could have been but reality is it is very unlikely unless someone has some more inside info.

Curtis

Is this just info floating around the arena, like I said I read it after the game on the NOOF and either it is just floating around or their are multiple sources making it more plausible.

Just floating around the arena so I have no clue as to how accurate these rumours even are. Like I said, I've heard the MacDermid one floating around for awhile, but that could just be optimism by some spit fans.

I honestly think Mitchell is a guy they seriously miss in the room, a real charcter guy. But like you said MacDermids toughness really adds a dimension that this team is missing at the moment.

I doubt either come back. But for arguments sake - who would be traded? Young is the captain, and I have a feeling Timmins was sent back with the assurance that he'd stay in Windsor. So that would mean one of MacDermid or Mitchell would have to be dealt.

I guess it would be a good problem to have, I'd keep Lane over Mitch though as we have the offense.

Mitchell is a definite goner though, and I'd give Lane maybe a 5% chance to come back. I bet both like their AHL paychecks a helluva lot better than eating kraft dinner in the OHL.

Mitchell comes in and Shugg drops to the... fourth line?

Windsor would have 10 or 11 players capable of top 9 minutes maybe even top 6 minutes. Yet, we still need a starting goaltender.

A few weeks ago there were rumours about Khunhackl still being a possibility for later this season. Anything else ever come up about this? I would imagine if this were to happen it would be after the WJC.

Merry Christmas Spitfires! Absolutely great addition to the team. So does this mean Baldwin and Unice are history?

Here is the confirmation.

http://windsorspitfiresohl.blogspot....orial-cup.html

This is great news. When I first hears this rumour I thought it was just that and had very little chance of happening. It'll be great to see my favorite player back in town.

I bet the phone in Warren's office is about to blow up any second now.

After this move Unice and Baldwin are all but done in a Spits Uni. My guess is Rychel trades Shugg while his value is still high. He probably packages a 2nd rounder from the Blacker deal and mayber another late rounder. He could also move Austin Brassard(which I would hate to see as I think he could end up being similar to Watson) or perhaps Posa/Fox to go along with Shugg.

Merry Christmas Spit fans...

That's a great addition without the subtraction part. Rychel and BB job is a pretty easy one at the deadline this year.

The big question... is he bringing his porn 'stache back with him, or is it gone until April?

What do our lines look like now? Who gets bumped from the second line to the third and from the third to the fourth? You have to put Mitch back with Timmins right? Does Ryan drop down the 3rd line?

Hall-Henrique-Nemo
Wellwood-Timmins-Mitchell
Watson-Panik-Ryan
Wallace-Brassard-Shugg

Panik has been on the wing and Nemo has been at centre playing with Wellwood and Watson. This line has been great recently so I can't imagine BB changing that. However Mitchell and Wellwood have a history of of playing well together so who knows.

My guess is

Hall-Henrique-Mitchell
Wellwood-Nemo-Watson
Ryan-Timmins-Panik
Wallace-Brassard-Shugg

Right now 7 forwards are drafted. Hall/Watson/Shugg will all be drafted this year.

This team is ridiculously deep. On paper this could be one of the best CHL teams ever assembled.

I'd be surprised if they moved Brassard. He's way to young and they'll need him when some of the current core moves on next season.

If this is where Shugg ends up, I can see him asking for a trade. This is his draft year and he will probably want minutes on a scoring line. Windsor will likely accomodate same as with Yogan last year.

I agree with you. I just think a lot of GM's who are rebuilding are going to want him included in any deal.

I think Shugg would suffice though. He's still young, likely to be around for the next few seasons. Any rebuilding team would probably want him also.

I'd try to package something around Shugg now that he seems to be on the outside looking in (I think he played 4th line with Wallace last game, and saw PP time).

With Mitchell coming back now it just complicates the situation for him.

being a late bday chances are next season is shuggs last year in the O depending on how high he is drafted.

I mean im envious (being a gens fan). the spits 3rd and 4th lines could match many of the eastern conferences 1st lines....If you look around the league there are some goalies who could be moved for the right price....and windsor has the pieces to move to acquire a goalie

A News Windsor reports that Josh Unice was seen leaving the WFCU with all of his gear today.

Mitchell was practicing on a line with Shugg and Timmins. Richard Panik was moved to the fourth line.

^Panik is the other player I could see dealt - especially if his pro-team requests it. However given that he's an import and just getting used to the big move to Canada I don't know if trading him would be the best decision for his development. I think the kid will start breaking out as he gets more comfortable - I look for a big second half from him.

There in no way all the forwards can be kept happy. I don't think Watson or Brassard are going anywhere, and neither are the vets.

It's also obvious that we need a #1 goalie, but I also don't think teams will want to give the Spits their final piece. I think the Spits will have to really overpay to get one. However thankfully Passingham is competent enough that the Spits can wait until closer to the trade deadline, when teams might start looking towards next season and worry less about playing kingmaker.

Ryan Baldwin is on the way out also - put on waivers by the club.

Unice was told that he's on the trade block so he was likely told to go home (similar to the Blacker situation).
