You mean Tampa hasn't retired it already for Chris Gratton?

Bourque is great, too bad we couldn't get Hedman on the Bruins, Chara would have moulded him greatly.

I was indifferent towards Hedman before now, but now he just jumped way up the awesome list. I love Ray Bourque too

Is the quote underneath meant to be sarcastic?

Any defenseman who likes Ray Bourque is cool in my book. He's my all-time favorite player. By the way for anyone interested, it's really hard to track down a 9 grade Bourque rookie card.

A shame his favorite player is not Rob Blake, then Vinny had to give up his jersey.

77 is an awsome number that fits really well on a lightning jersey. I'm sure he'll be a great one.

I trust Hedman will be an excellent defenseman, worthy every bit of #77.

Seriously.
that's beleivable because

A) the other teams in the running were NY islanders and atlanta.

B) he was approx 13 when tampa won the cup. that's an impressionable age and watching st. louis, lecavalier and khabibulin rip it up may have been inspiring.
