Whats with all these lopsided player vs player threads.

Dany Heatley is top 10 in the league while marleau is top 30-40.

Because Sharks fans keep arguing me that they have both the same value

Like they wouldn't trade Marleau + Cheechoo (9.3) for Heatley + Donovan (8.1)

They would save 1.2M$, get the best player signed long-term (vs Marleau signed for 1 more year) and get rid of Cheechoo's contract... But still, that trade wouldn't be good enough for them...

They also told me that Marleau wouldn't be overpaid @ 7.5 a year (same salary as Heatley)...

So i'm really wondering if i'm the one who is crazy, you know like in the movie "the others" until Nicole Kidman realizes she's the one who's dead...

Value in a trade? It is Patrick Marleau.

Heatley is obviously the superior hockey player, but his antics have clearly killed the market for his services.

I'm sure if San Jose was willing to take back $5 million in salary on the return, they would find a few destinations for Patrick Marleau at a good return.

Right now, Marleau without a doubt. Heatley killed his own value.

and the fact that you have an option for "I'm a Sharks fan" but not an "I'm a Senators fan" option pretty much kills your own poll's value as well.

Well, i can't jupdate the options so i can't add one...

But anyway, i messed this poll a bit...

What i wanted to know was who has the most value on the ice, if you don't consider off the ice-attitude.

Of course i expect that Heatley win this poll, but many people were arguing with me... so it's a check-up to see if i'm still sane...

That's an even worse question

removing the attitude I think its even... it really depends what you're looking for imo.

If you're just looking for the offense then Heatley definately. But I'd take Marleau cause I like his two-way play better and his abillity on the PK.

Funny that you make this whole assumption based on an argument with just one user (maybe two).

Heatley is quite a bit better than Marleau. I think even though he is a headcase, his value is higher until it shows on the ice.

I dont think so. When you look at guys like Heatley and Marleau, you are looking for offense not two way play and other little things...that's for role players.

Offensively Marleau is a class below Heatley....Only issue with Heatley is he is an idiot off the ice.

I believe Heatley is the better player. Combine that with Marleau only having 1 year left on his contract and I would rather trade something of value for Heatley, taking the chance that he will play on my team for more than a year (while doubting not that Marleau would certainly be gone).

If I'm trading for a player you better believe I'm looking at their total skill set when evaluating their worth. Last time I checked defensive awareness is hardly a "little thing". I'm not going to ignore a players strength/weakness in other areas simply because his perceived greatest strength is on offense.

I agree Heatley is a step ahead of Marleau offensively, but to me (obviously its my opinion and by the looks of the poll I'm in the minority), I take Marleau for his speed, backchecking, PK, face-off ability in addition to his offensive ability...all of which when put together...for me....put him at least even with Heatley at which point it simply becomes what your preference is in the type of player you are looking for.

Please do not start lopsided polls for the purpose of gaining some sort of self-realized "revenge" on another poster.
