I tie just sort of snug on the boot, and as tight as I can pull on the ankle on up. I also don't do up the uppermost eyelet.

I switched from Bauer's to RBK 9K's just so I can get the lace clips on the ankle that "sort of" allows me to lock the laces from below the ankle to just a snug fit, and then the laces from the above the ankle uber tight.

I tighten them up moderately tight all the way up. After that I tighten the top four eyelets again. I'm not too happy with that way any more though because it seems to give me a bit of lace bite lately.

I think I'll try the "correct" method for my game today and see how that works out.

I tie them snug all the way but really crank them around the ankle. I've cut my fingers up a bit tying them that tight but I'd rather not be sliding around in the boot. When I've tie them loose, I've had rubbing problems inside the boot.
